Mass Effect 1 (LE) Asteroids do not periodically 'sparkle' on the system map

PC Version:

Mass Effect 1 (Original) :

When at a system such as Knossus in the Artemis Tau system, there exist 2 asteroid belts.   Each one of these asteroid belts contains 1 scannable asteroid.  The periodically flash or sparkle to give the player a hint that something is there worth investigating

Mass Effect 1 (LE)

When at the same system, the two asteroids in question are still there, but there's no flash or sparkle to indicate to the player that something is there.  There's no indication to the player that anything is in the asteroid belts worth scanning.  Players not using a walkthrough or not having prior experience will simply not know something is there.

  • Asteroids in Mass Effect can be found in asteroid belts orbiting the various systems. To spot them, swing the cursor around along the belt, or watch carefully: they'll flash violet every few seconds.

This seems to not be working in Mass Effect LE

  • I'm seeing the same. The asteroids do exist for collection as in original Mass Effect 1, but there is no twinkling to guide the player to the correct position.

  • Additionally, hotspots for missions are not twinkling, e.g. location of MSV Majesty in Strenuus.
