Mass Effect 2 stuck in Cerberus Network login

It's bit too late, but I just started to play Mass Effect series on Origin week before. However, when trying to launch Mass Effect 2, I got stuck in Cerberus Network login and cannot access game. Googled for solution, seems it's because I didn't register the games in Bioware Social website, but when I used key from Origin, it only prompted 'code not valid'

Wondering anyone could help with solutions, thanks in advance

    Previously tried the port instructions, as well as the binkw32.dll with no effect.
    I also was able to contact someone at EA through Twitter, they set me up with the Origin version, however the situation remains the same...
    I asked what the difference was with using the Origin version over Steam, and they replied that they potentially have access to game data.
    We will see how effective it is I guess.

    I am also having this issue.

    Definitely nothing wrong with ports, I have tried installing through Steam and Origin and both are exactly the same, can never get past the Cerberus Network login, just sits on "Please Wait..." forever.

    It's very disappointing that I paid for this game and just can't play it.
