Mass Effect 3 Genesis 2 not letting me decide

I’ve downloaded genesis 2 for mass effect 3 on my Xbox 360. When playing through the comic, I am never given an opportunity to make decisions, and it just goes through making its own. How do I make decisions? The only button that does anything is pushing X to skip panels

    Are you importing a character from ME2??  If you import a character you get a recap, if you are starting a new character without import, it SHOULD allow you to make choices.

    Is your game set to "Action Mode"?

    In Action Mode all decisions are made by the set pretends, and I assume that also counts for Genesis.
