Mass Effect 3 will not start on PS3

So I'm a few years late to this portion of the game but here it goes... I've owned Mass Effect 3 for a few years now but never had the funds to buy all the dlcs at once so I waited. Just recently I wanted to replay it and decided to get the dlcs that were available via the PlayStation store. I sunk roughly $60 into them and proceeded to download and install, however I'm now stuck with the annoying 'checking downloadable content' message on my screen and it just stays there. I've heard this is an issue across most platforms but I haven't found a workaround or a fix for my PS3. Everytime I do I get Xbox 360 or PC which does not help me in the slightest. Any help would be appreciated.
