mass effect: andromeda won't launch

Thats the x86 version and you should be using the x64 version.  Remove the x86 version and reinstall the 64 bit version.  MAke sure you set the pagefile to manage across all volumes ... Right click MassAndromeda.exe and turn off fullscreen optimisations. 


All these seem to be a particular problem with Win 10 Home version ...

I tried to play the game today so I could open all the rewards you get for playing the apex missions on the mobile app, but the game won't launch after the latest patch 1.07!

What I've tried so far to fix the issue is:

A complete uninstall and reinstall of the latest nvidia drivers/geforce experience.

A repair of the game within the Origin app.

Uninstall and reinstall of the Origin app.

Uninstall and reinstall of the the complete game which took over 3hrs.

Deleting the games .exe files then and doing a repair of the game.

Uninstalling and reinstalling vc redist 2015 x64 and x86.

Ccleaner to clean drive and registry.

I attached the dxdiag.txt, hopefully someone can help.

@Delgorath No change. I have had some programmes that didn't automatically use the NVIDIA, so I knew that trick.

Can you turn off the Corsair Engine Utility.  Its supposedly been fixed but it might help

Its showing some Windows update errors you should resolve and a problem with Corsair Link .. disable the Corsair and see if it helps

I'm going to go play a bit, its 2:30am here, so probably wont respond until tomorrow.  If you run Task Manager when trying to launch Andromeda does it appear in the list? Even briefly.  Do you have any other software running? Came across someone who found his 3rd party screensaver app was blocking it.  And what refresh rate is the monitor and game running at.  theres a thing about knocking it back to 59.9 Hz and back.

Yep, did SP1, and I ran it in Safemode with nothing loading.

I'm not sure how I go about fixing the windows update errors as every update on the update list that failed initially successfully installed and windows update says my computer is up to date. 

The game was working fine up until the latest patch and every other game works perfectly including Titanfall 2 on Origin.

I'll have to look at the individual errors and see if I can link them to a specific update tomorrow.

Reinstalled Windows 10, same username, launched Origin and NOTHING.

Created a new administrator account, launched Origin and IT WORKED! 

Moved my files to the new account and now everything works. Somehow by using the same account name as before even when reinstalling Windows didn't work. Had to use a different username. Weird!

In the absence of any information from EA support about this kind of stuff, its pure guesswork why a different user account name would have fixed it.  Perhaps a user name was embedded somewhere in your online profile.   We have no info from EA as to what if any information is stored within Origin.  The main thing is you are fixed.

Might have picked up the ntuser.dat file from the old account.

Just tried that, no luck. thanks though 🙂

I'm wondering if its worth deleting the Origin cache.

1. Completely log out and close down Origin
2. Hold down the Windows key and R
3. Type in "%ProgramData%" (without quotes) and click OK
4. Now open the Origin folder.
5. Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for LocalContent (do not delete this one)
6. Hold down the Windows key and R
7. Type in "%AppData%" (without quotes) and click OK
8. This will take you to a Roaming folder, which is located inside of AppData. Delete the Origin folder
9. Click on the word "AppData" at the top of your window
10. Open the Local folder here
11. Delete the Origin folder listed here
12. Restart your PC and log back into Origin

Hey @Delgorath, I've tried it in safemode and on a new user profile, so nothing was running bar windows in those instances. Monitor is running at 60 Hertz

Screensaver I'm using is the ME2 Loading Screens Screensaver, would have thought that'd be more pro-ME:A !

For all users and EA advisors posting possible solutions, please take a look at the list of actions and steps I've taken in order to make my Andromeda game work again. And nothing works. Please continue reading the thread where I posted this, and you will find a lot of extra information regarding this issue.

It's all down to the same thing: whenever Mass Effect Andromeda is launched, ActivationUI.exe pops in, and is instantly killed by the game, probably because it thinks there's something "shady" in the system -like a cheat tool-.

I still can play in my old Windows 7 system, but not in my Laptop, where I could fluidly play before this so-called hotfix 1.07.

And because I wiped and reinstalled Windows 10 last week, there's only Mass Effect Andromeda + nVidia drivers installed. Literally there's nothing new, it's a brand new system. I've disabled every third party apps I found, no antivirus no firewall no (not even windows ones), and still nothing works.

It has been 5 days and we're still waiting, come on EA.
