Mass Effect trilogy install issues PC

THIS INQUIRY IS FOR THE MASS EFFECT TRILOGY PACKAGE.... which wasnt a "select locatoin" choice

Hello,

I recently purchased the mass effect trilogy.  I really didn't need to as I already own each title separately.  I was more interested in the DLC offered for ME3 that came with the trilogy package,.... and I also like to have a backup copy.  The first time I installed the set, I encountered a hiccup... (mainly having to reinstall ME3 from the dvd as the first go around didnt get past 99 percent complete.) which, of course was rather upsetting and a huge waste of my time.

Well, wouldn't you know it, but downloading a title patch file, from what I thought was a trusted site, yielded me 3 wonderful friggin trojan horse viruses that rendered my boot drive useless, not to mention the absolutely USELESS antivirus software, which I will never use again.  Fortunately for me, that drive was a second boot drive I created because I saw signs that my original boot drive might be dying.  That, however was not the case.  As the original boot drive is now back online.... .the installations are different, and I had to reinstall the ME software once again.

HERE'S MY PROBLEM:   When I try to install the software from the dvd.... the process wants to download the titles from the interet with no option to install from the DVD.   WHY IS THAT OPTION NOT AVAILABLE DURING INSTALLATION AND WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE THE TITLES INSTALL FROM DVD???

For the record... this ORIGIN and STEAM stuff is the WORST idea.  The ONLY things these client programs shoud be doing is finding out if you are downloading a title or installing from dvd, alert you when patches are available, and authenticate the damned software..... THAT'S IT.  It shouldn't even be NEEDED to play the games unless you want it for multiplayer/online/origin-steam community crap.

That's all I have to say on the matter.  If there are any suggestions, please let me know.

You know, I'm beginning to feel like the whole pc gaming community is trying to make things so annoying and ridiculous when trying to install from dvd to push us to downloads only, which wouldn't be surprising as we're already being treated like criminals anyway.  I am a PC gamer, and everyday I come closer to just giving this crap up altogether..... its fast becoming not worth the hassle.  No offense to anyone that uses those game consoles, but pc gaming is worlds better.

I hope someone in the software gaming world understands my pain, but  then again, maybe pigs will fly......... who knows.
