ME2: Audio Messed up
character dialogue sounds distorted, like the characters are standing in a giant cave or far away from where they actually are. Sometimes it’s impossible to make out what they are saying.

Looks like the issue appearing in ME1.

Maybe that would help with ME2.
I'm having the same problem. Characters sound like they are extremely far away and echo, happens in cutscenes and during combat. Companions will only be audible if I am looking at them. It is ruining the experience massively. I have closed and restarted, re-installed Mass Effect 2 and then re-installed the entire Legendary Edition - and the issue is still there. I am on Xbox Series X.
Update, fixed this issue by going into my Xbox settings and changing the audio output from Windows Sonic to Dolby Atmos.
