On the PC, the animations for ME2 characters crying seems to be broken. I remember in the 360 version, the Baria Frontiers rep, the lady with the locket, Thane's son, and more would tear up and have a liquid animation under their eyes in emotional scenes. That does not seem to work in Legendary Edition and that's a shame.
Strangely, the dead girl's mom in the Samara loyalty mission seems to be working. No patch between when I noticed the characters on Illium not crying and now, maybe the glitch is related to the location?
Maybe it's just me but I'm glad it's gone, I thought the effect looked pretty bad. For me the scene plays out a lot better now, you can still see the emotion in her face and she doesn't have a sudden fountain of tears. I figured it was intentional.
I just played through the lady with the locket last night, and it did have tears under her eyes, but it was hard to notice. It wasn't obvious, but if you looked, you could see a slight change under her eyes of the tears.
