Next Patch Priority: Voeld's vault accassible after terraforming

I forgot the remnant core inside voeld's vault. Every vault has one inside and they're needed for a quest (and maybe they're important to the plot, i don't know).

If I'm right, I remember that kadara's vault for example was accessible after the terraforming process, then why can't I go back in Voeld's one?

I mean, I can enter it, but the remnant console to open the main door is locked inside the floor

Those things are locked by a force field. Then, you need to pay attention to a few things:

    • Ryder will comment about your findings
    • SAM marks on the navpoint that location
    • Before resetting the vault, SAM says that it might be better to sweep the area
    • When you are running for your life, you'll always pass next to the place SAM marked
    • Ryder yells something like, "Grab it!", when you are close to it

And that's when you have to take your chances. As difficulty goes higher, the purging cloud comes faster. But at lower difficulties, you can easily fetch those items at your own leisure. They were meant to be retrieved when you are fleeing the purging system. I myself could never reenter them, and they didn't hinder me from my missions either. One of them had 2 of those treasures.

  • IMHO all the vaults should be re-explorable.  EOS (priority op vault) should be the only one maybe that stays disabled maybe.

Some of the vaults I know let you go into the first area but then you can't progress further back into them to collect loot, etc. I suppose this is done on purpose because they _want_ you to try to get this stuff during the mission rather than when its empty but they could add enemies in the vaults again after a while maybe. Just no field etc. I was under the impression that turning the vault on just activates it and turns off the field so it is a little strange that they purposely block it off afterwards when its not like the structure itself has been destroyed.

My opinion differs a bit, but I think I don't mind much either way. I would like some features being one-chance only in a game, part of the risk. If feels, to me, that making these things available again takes away a small thrill of dare when we are running from the purge, if we are sure that we can get back either way, so why even bother? That's just my point. I had not many thrilling experiences with the game, and I think small things that create a sense of daring, boldness and uncertainty sure comes handy for acclimatizing the unknown and hardship. ^_^

  • Can you tell me if these cores are needed just to complete the quest asking to gather them, or they do more? Like access to cutscenes, different story plot?

Also I remember I did re-entered kadara's vault after terraforming

My apologies, but I don't remember exactly. The only remnant thing mission I recall is related to Peebee and it's not a task that required those chests. The important chests we have there only have some rare things and the no-sudoku-keys. My first save got corrupted by the new patch and I'm not replaying it right now because I'm not sure what else could have been affected. I'm sparing myself from needless stress.
