Pathfinder armour does not seem particularly appealing for any playstyle.
Which is odd, because it and the Remnant armor are my go to armors because of the DR. DR goes with any playstyle.

True but you have to consider how much DR actually mitigates as well as how it complements other armour stats.
For me Pathfinder's 51 DR (at best) is not enough when the rest of the bonuses do not fit with the character profile I use most of the time.
I wield highly accurate weapons modded so that they can either spray death for ages without fear of running low on ammo or alternatively I can put three bullets in a weak point and the high damage will do the job for me.
That said, Heleus Icon is better for me as it grants other useful stats that can further emphasize what I am looking for in addition to DR (albeit a little bit lower DR - 30).
Now, how that beauty pageant gown looks on a male Ryder is an entirely different topic...
It seems we are both not entirely correct. My statement that PF Armour is not appealing for any playstyle is false because it obviously appeals to you.
And your statement that DR goes with any playstyle will hold until someone else comments here how his "glass cannon" vanguard has 0 DR but wrecks like mad with everything dumped into biotics power, force and AoE.
So, Andromeda may indeed have something for everybody, eh?
+1 for MEA and BioWare
