[PC] Can't connect to Mass Effect 2 Servers to verify DLC

I bought Mass Effect 2 years ago on Steam when Origin wasn't even a thing; i've re-installed the game from Steam on my new machine, it launches and i can login to EA Online, however when i put my Cerburus code in it tells me there are issues connecting to the Mass Effect 2 servers

I have tried manually redeeming both the game key and the Cerberus network key via origin and it states they've already been redeemed which stands to reason as i had it installed on my previous machine. How do i rectify this?

Edit: I saw that EA is now proving all the DLC free of charge, could i just download those and re-install them that way.

They are not free of charge, just free to download for people that own them on a disc installation.

So they won't verify either in your case.

You are sure you're logged in with the same account you bought the DLCs with?

  • I'm having the same problem and have tried all of the instructions you listed without the problem being solved. I know that I have the same email address, I bought it on June 20th 2020 via Steam, I was never able to redeem anything on the first computer I tried it on. I believe I have the same DLC. It came with the Digital Deluxe Cerberus, Game, and Promo Key. I don't know what to do, help.

  • The keys I got from steam say:

Mass effect 2: Digital Deluxe Promo Key

Mass Effect 2: Digital Deluxe Cerberus Key

Mass Effect 2: Digital Deluxe Game Key

I get this message when I open the game before the main menu pops up:

    " Error

Communication with the mass effect 2 server was interrupted or has timed out. Please try again later."

I click on the cerberus network and log into my EA account with no problems, the network key input opens up and no matter what I put in (any of my keys or even just the number 1) I get the exact same error message about the network.
