    @SapperICE

I moved your posts into a separate thread.

So MEA and DAi are is stuck at "preparing game", right?

Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

Is there a "Mass Effect Andromeda" folder in your "Documents\Bioware" folder

    Hello and thanks.

    DxDiag attached,
So ME:A is still failing to launch But DA:I I got running with admin privileges.

It's odd but DA:I will only run if I run it as admin from the desktop shortcut but not the EA app, even though the EA  App is running as Admin?

@SapperICE I am taking a look at the file. When you installed the EA app, and the games, did you change both to run as Admin or do you just right-click and run as admin?

It sounds like we have some permission issues happening within Windows.

    I have tried...

EA App (running on startup) launching ME:A through the App
EA App (running on startup) launching ME:A from the desktop shortcut
EA App (running on startup) launching ME:A as Admin (right click) from the desktop shortcut

Closing the App and Re-launching the app as admin (right click), running ME:A through the EA App
Closing the App and Re-launching the app as admin (right click), running ME:A from the desktop shortcut as admin (right click)

Closing the App and Re-launching the app as admin (right click), running ME:A from the The Directory as admin (right click)
Closing the App and Re-launching the app as admin (right click), running ME:A from the The Directory set run as admin (properties>Compatibility>Run as Admin)

And for good measure I tried (run as admin)...
running in Compatibility mode for windows 8

running without a microphone (steam suggestion)

    deleting App data
changing the dir in reg edit
    and re-installing

If I had just bought it I would have asked for a refund but I got it back in 2017 so I have just over 100 hours from my first play through(s)... do you think there might be a version issue? The App installed Deluxe Edition and Deep Space Pack, I assume it comes standard now but I don't remember buying any extra content 7 years ago

And to add some confusion I can't run Dragon Age Inquisition after failing to run ME:A, I need to close the app and (task manager) end task EA background services then run DA:I from the desktop and let the shortcut launch the EA app or it fails to run as well.

@SapperICE The version you have would not matter no because Evertones game was updated on the backend. They have bundles now which is why you see content you have not purchased. When you launch it now, does it just stick on preparing?

If I launch from desktop it'll sit in "preparing Game" until I end task or right click > close window on the taskbar

If I launch from the app it will do the same but stop on its own if I click on the EA app behind it.

not sure if it'll help but I added a screen caps of Task manager so you can see what's running and left running after it fails to run

@SapperICE What happens if you do the same but you only end the EA_background services in the task manager?

When you are in the EA app's settings, can you ensure the limit download rate is set to 20?

Under Applications - Application Settings - Which options are turned on?

    Which options are turned off?

If I end task on the background services, the EA app and the "preparing game" screen crash (no error message)
But I only need to kill background services if I want to run something else after failing to run ME:A its like the app is still stuck trying to run ME:A

Download rate is now set to 20 was at unlimited

@SapperICE Gotcha. I looked at your DxDiag and Your system specs are way better than needed so we can rule that out. I did see the GPU drivers are a month out of date but that would not "prevent" the game from launching.

In Windows, let's say you do a fresh install. Unless you change admin privileges then, you have to click on the OK and Accept messages when you install and launch programs.

Once Windows is installed, people install all kinds of other programs. The question here is, how many different "security" programs did you install? How many security programs have you modified?

From the list of steps you provided above, there are only a handful of other changes you can make that would give permission to run the game. Almost like Windows (or a program) is stopping this one game. This used to happen with Sims all the time back in the day.

    Windows Error report

Windows error reports show around 10 KernalEvent errors with Windows and your hardware. Most were all around the same type of issues. Mainly Windows, programs, and software installs.

    Steps to start with

    Additional Steps to test

    • Put your device in a Clean Boot then launch the game
    • Try the Game in different Compatibility settings
    • Try Safe Mode with Networking
    • Try a new Windows Account
    • Change UAC Controls within Windows (change back once tested)
    • Remove any over-clocking or undervolt settings or software and check if the issue continues

The file also suggests the following:

    • Checking hardware
    • Run hardware diagnostics
    • Check the event viewer for errors
    • System Restore
