I had this same issue recently with a MEA install that was working just fine: for me, apparently this MIGHT have had something to do with me having xbox (PC) "game pass ultimate" and this sort of messed up entitlements like when you have EA Play (which I never had directly) - because Game Pass Ultimate also includes a lot of origin games.... but it's really confusing and fuzzy still though. I had xbox game pass ultimate for quite a while now as well as pre-ordered MEA Deluxe from 2016 - and MEA was working fine on this PC up until a month ago or so. On a whim, I tried opening MEA through the xbox app then it worked - if that was the trick (OR someone at EA support managed to fix my entitlements earlier with the tickets I have opened - we may never know).
