The old design oversight, or bug, carried from the original trilogy. When landing on Omega or docking to Citadel cinematic is played always, but not for Illium. Would be great to see it fixed.
ROFL....many people on PC actually installed mods to STOP the landing sequences from playing to speed load times, and now here you want it to play....If that is what you like, I just find it funny, and proof that different strokes for different folks still holds true to today, not everyone likes the same thing....

@mcsupersport The mods were because the loading screen animations had to play completely before loading would finish (even when actual loading happens relatively quickly). They changed the behavior in the remaster to mimic ME3 (loading is an async process and they just bail on the animation once it's done).
The landing movies could always be skipped, and they play on all the major worlds in the first 2 games except for this one that only plays once.

Therein lies the crux of the weirdness and why it surely could be remedied in a patch rather easily - Citadel/Tuchanka/Illium are the 3 hubs somewhat equally, yet Illium gets weirdly hung out to dry on the cutscene front.
The mod that fixes this weird decision is here : https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect2/mods/53/?tab=posts&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fmasseffect2%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fuser%3D0%26id%3D53%26gid%3D264
Seems as though a lot of people miss it too, glad I'm not the only one lol.

This! How many times do we need to see the landing scenes (man I miss having a PC big time!)? I mean, there aren't any new revelations or scenery to experience in them with each landing. I wish there was an implementation where these cut scenes could be limited or turned off. They are redundant and just make the game longer than needs be. One thing that's certainly annoying is leaving Illium, the cutscene cannot be skipped like other ones can be when they start.
Also, in Mass Effect 3 I would like to have the ability tio skip scenes after experiencing them once. Some of the mission start scenes are just too long tbh. Is the context important, most certainly but only once, after that I am wasting time listening to the same dialogue over and over again.

Well for me, it's an RP thing.
You land on the Citadel, you see you landing, you leave, you see the Normandy leave.
You land on Tuchanka, you see the shuttle landing, you leave and see it leaving.
You arrive at Omega, you see the Normandy heading into the station, you leave and see it going.
You land on Illium (a more important hub for missions than most), you see landing just once, then only leaving from then on.
I get that some like yourself only see things one and you're done, but for players like me: I watch the cutscenes every playthrough...which gives me pleasure.

That's fine and I didn't say they should be removed, only that an option be allowed where they can be skipped.

Regarding Illium, more than once per playthrough would be nice. It's my favorite landing cutscene.

My previous response was regarding making it a choice to experience the cutscenes or not. In ME2, one can just skip the scene altogether once they start. At least thatr's there. But I would like a function that allow it to skip altogether.
