There are black bars both in in-game cutscenes and dialogues when playing ultrawide. Will this be fixed?
Whit what settings did you get no letterboxing at 21:9 in the Original ME1?
I have it in cutscene as well.
- @holger1405 You need to install mods to original trilogy, but yea, it's much better in OT with mods than remaster. For 60$ you would expect to have at least the same support as moddders did, but well, not this time i guess.
When over half the in game cutscenes do not support ultrawide, it is horrible advertising. I know a modder who is fixing this was waiting until Legendary Edition came out. Horrible on the marketing front...
Even then the image is only stretched, something that looks worse than letterboxes imho.Remember, the worked with the Original martial, and scaled it up.21:9 is working fine outside of cutscenes, but inside of them it reverts back to 16:9. They specifically advertised 21:9 and said they were redoing the cutscenes, so I'm assuming that's just a bug/error on my part.
How do I get the cutscenes to show 21:9?
EDIT: Thank you, moderator, for moving this. Trying to hide the issue isn't a resolution.

Look here. There is nothing stretched.
I agree with the OP. Today, when developers say they support 21:9 you can typically play 90-95% of the game with full UW (without black bars). A few games have black bars (16:9) during pre-rendered cut scenes, but this is the first AAA game in recent years that reverts to 16:9 during all dialogue scenes. ME is heavy in dialogue, which means we have to switch back and forth between 21:9 a lot of times.
I am not sure why Bioware made this decision but I am pretty sure this will result in all 21:9 buyers requesting a refund. I already requested a refund and I am a big ME fan. I will immediately buy the game again if 21:9 is properly supported. No 21:9 in pre-rendered cut scenes is understandable, but dialogue scenes make up 30-40% of the game.
I can understand that there might at some points be cutscene anim that behaves oddly when removing black bars, such as characters leaving screen but maybe is not animated all the way out of frame for ultrawide but hidden behind bars in the OG version. I don't care that much if oddities like that occur, I would just like a quick option added to be able to toggle them off if need be. Hopefully that can be adressed soonar rather than later.
This was promised and should be basics for a game coming out in 2021 at £54 for a 10 years old game
Flawless Screen fix it and EA cannot? Although ME:3 still won't work as the markers gets out of place with Falwless Screen...
This is unacceptable really, one can really tell Bioware is no more and is truly 101% EA and their total lack of respect for their own customers.
Also please stop talking nonsense here with zero understanding of how the engine work, the scenes are not pre-rendered, increasing the screen does absolutely nothing, they do not stretch anything, you are not watching a TV Series it is just a settings in the game engine to show "This" or "That" much of the environment during a cutscene...
This is pure laziness and false advertisement from EA.
