I do one main save that I usually do before every mission on the ship, and then on individual missions I save in a second slot before decisions or fights, which I then delete after the mission.
I run the max on PS5 (like, 40 I think?), and overwrite the oldest with the newest as I go along.
Had one save corrupt on me so far, so glad I had another only 15 min behind 🙂

Apart from the quicksave I usually have one "current" save I use at the start of a new mission/quest in case anything goes wrong during the mission. This one I reuse.
Additionally, I tend to have one save per session I'm playing and/or saves before potentially important decisions, new planets, chapters, and such.- 4 years ago
I typically max out the number of possible saves and overwrite the older ones as I go along. It seems like Mass Effect 3 in the Legendary Edition doesn't have a cap...or it's REALLY high. I'm currently at 195 saves and I just finished Priority: Horizon.

Thank you all for your replies, and for those running less than 5 saves on a game this size....wow, it would drive me insane to try and do that. Just for things like the issue some hit with the Mako being left behind and stopping a play because they didn't have another save on Ilos before leaving it. Or the glitch that makes the game crash if you go to save the person at the bomb in ME1. Yeah, I just can't see myself using less saves than I do, and actually feel I should save more often.
Maybe it is just I am an older gamer and remember when I have had issues and games didn't auto-save as often or well as they generally do now.
