Re: Final Saren/Sovereign fight crashing

Had the same thing just happen to me, on PC. Playing on insanity. It seems to happen when the 2nd wave of geth spawn, then the screen turns a red-ish texture and the game locks up, music continues playing. I read somewhere else that cranking the difficulty down to easy might by a way to get around it, but I really don't want to kill my insanity run for this. Has anyone found a workaround/fix yet? Pretty massive bug here.

edit: apparently it has something to do with biotic power usage. will try a kill without biotics and see

Same deal for me.  I have crashed/locked 4x on the fight.  Has happened at various stages of the fight for me.  I've seen the pink backround like shown above, but not every time.  Sometimes the app stops responding where Windows will offer to shut it down, and other times I've had to force it to close.

Last time I noticed the sound stuttering a bit just before it crashed.  I don't remember if that happened each time, or whether that indicates a possible issue with sound, or just a side effect of it crashing.

During the final boss fight, I've had my game crash in a few different ways throughout the fight.

    1. When the final boss spawns the second wave of Geth, the screen turns red/pinkish and locks up. Music continues playing, had to close via task manager.

    2. Same as above, but the game instantly crashes to desktop instead of locking up.

    3. Managed to finish the fight, but the game crashed in the cutscene afterwards (losing your progress).

    editing for clarity:

    SOLUTION:

the crashing is caused by biotic power usage, from both you and your squadmates. the only solution seems to be turning off auto ability usage for squad, and just gun him down. barrier seems to be okay, but offensive biotic abilities will lead to a crash either during the fight or the cutscene after (unless you're lucky.) my gut tells me the crash is caused by biotic abilities knocking enemies outside of the fight room, either ejecting them from the arena or causing them to get stuck in the wall.

protip: use high explosive ammo. it's rough on insanity with no abilities, but doable.

FYI the workaround here is to NOT USE ANY BIOTIC POWERS. I just managed to get through the fight (annoyingly) without biotic powers (you OR your squad members).

That's exactly what I saw but after I get back to Desktop and fire up Origin launcher, it shows it's processing the game and then starts downloading the game again saying it's gonna take 34 minutes on my 100Mbps connection, so a large file or lots of files seemed to have vanished?

Also, a kick in the gut are the pitifully throttled EA download servers. I get a consistent 14MB/s on Ubisoft and Steam downloads. Origin speeds range from 1.5MB/s up to a max of 8MB/s. Very poor customer experience.
