Re: loss of sound on mass effect andromeda

[PC] Yeah 3 times today still in 1.06 multiplayer loss of all sound and basic have to restart de game, sensory deprivation hurts performance :I Amazingly though no crashes. Once stuck on loading screen after the match and once lights dimmed on the multiplayer menu, maybe they were saving electricity at the APEX staging point idontknow..

My god those Devs are amateurs. Still occuring in that last version with no workaround at all.

We had no sound problem on pc since the good old soundblasters went Integrated to motherboard... This is insane.

How those guys are still walking without bugging I do not know.

All i could hear in my last game tonight was my own profanity mixed with words such as sound, patch and useless.

PLEASE EA/BIOWARE, WE NEED THIS ADDRESSING!!!  YES I AM SHOUTING.. but i dare say if i drove my car into your head office foyer shouting fix the goddamn sound on ME:Andromeda, we would still not see it next patch as a fix.  ammarite?

Odds of us receiving a fix for this within the next four months: whimsical. This annoying bug isn't something only 1% of players experience through their gameplay, more like 85%... and they just don't bother investigating it.

And honestly, is anyone here surprised anyhow? EAware is no longer the team we used to love and respect.

A minor solution: turn off some of unnecessary sound effects. For reason yet unknown to me, this slightly reduces the chance to 'proc' this glitch in Multiplayer.

  • 1% of players would be 1 in a hundred.  With MEA its probably closer to 1 in 100,000. out of 2000 possible games since release I've had it happen half a dozen times. Thats 0.3% . Its due to people with problems in SP or connectivity problems in general, connecting to MP.  So the other night I play half a dozen games, a couple of people drop out, tired/bored/made 1m credits, a couple more people join what has been a smooth set of games.  Result, halfway into wave 1 the sound bombs out.

If the Devs implemented a fitness test, it would increase the game overheads and more people wouldnt be able to play.  The EA_ guys, among others, are trying to help people and work out where the issues lie, but a lot of the time just getting abuse.

    No. Just... No.

Alas, my own sound just crashed a few minutes ago. Single player, while standing still in the middle of the Nexus.

    What.

I play MEA every day since the release, in MP or SP. In MP, the sound bug happens sometimes twice in the same day, sometimes, nothing for 2-3 days. I had never encountered it in SP before, but it happened for the first time the day 1.06 was deployed. Could be a coincidence. Could be not.

Are you using Shadow Play when this audio bug occurs? It was happening to me when the game first came out and I used Shadow Play for my YouTube videos exclusively. I went to OBS and noticed that the sound drops stopped. I went back to Shadow Play today and lost my audio again. I think its related to Shadow play. and this happened on both my onboard sound and with my headset

    My build

    i5 7600k

    gtx 1080

    16 gigs of ram

    Razer Leviathan Sound bar

    Razer Man O War headset

My shadow play is always set to record the last 5 mins of game play.  I use it mostly for recording bug evidence on ME:A.  I'll try with it disabled though, heck i'll try anything right now.

    AMD 8350 octacore

    16gb RAM

    Nvidia GTX1070

    Soundblaster Audigy FX soundcard.

and a much cheaper usb headset than yours but does the job 🙂 (it was 7.1 though)

My friendly co gamer,i feel ashamed to go to any games support page and * a bout a problem i can ''sense'' many people have cause i know that someone is trying to fix it,this is not the issue, the issue is people are tired of ''X-rebirths'' or ''Lords of the fallen'' i could keep going all day if need be,for the idiotic price of 59 euro, for something that is not even close to a finished product, cause sure as hell aint a game,so riddle me this please sir,if u were CEO or at least the head of the department responsible for animations in a game and one of ur people supposedly * up and u decide to paint him black and throw him in the sea after a fiasco, what my good sir does that make u,u who didnt go in the trouble of checking the product for which u will demand 59 euro from every person out there?

....yeah poor  devs/pubs/manags i pity them

Frustrated beyond belief with this issue now.  I can't fix it.  I have tried to many things.. tried every suggestion including the cd quality audio which i loathed having to try, yet did.

I've even been hijacking other peoples threads where they've mentioned audio issues because they've actually had a response from EA on them.. in a desparate attempt to get someone from EA to notice THIS issue.  I hate doing that, it goes against how i like to use a forum.. but i've had to resort to it, because if you look at this entire thread.. it has been ignored.. skated past.. brushed under the carpet.

The feeling of being utterly ignored is overwhelming.   I think this feeling is worse than the issue itself.  upsetting to feel that once a company has taken money for a product, and you report an issue that has been experienced by many that no attempts to fix it seem to be, or are reported to be forthcoming.

It just takes communication .  I used to think i had a lot of patience.. i was wrong.   Not any more.  but then 2 full months is a very long time with no word from the devs about this.. nor even a customer service post to say 'hey we are aware and the devs are looking into it'.   nothing.   Silence.. but then silence is a theme isn't it. :/
