Re: my specific Legendary Edition vs Originals ?
@slowlyunAbove everything buying MELE should be 100% your decision and should not involve 3rd party's opinion. From what I know there is a refund policy which can come in handy in case from the very beginning the game doesn't match your expectations.
If I would be in your place I would play first 15 min (new game) on each of ME then purchase LE and do the same. That would be enough to have an idea about what I get.
Talking about avoiding any advice, I can only share my experience with the trilogy. I had a full run of ME1, ME2 and almost at the end of ME3 when MELE become available, That after spending lots of hours installing and testing mods to improve original games quality. So the experience of replaying the games was fresh and got to face a fact: spend £25 to complete the missing DLC's or £50 to get the full package remastered meaning all DLC's and full graphic quality. Of course I went for full package. No regrets so far.
The gameplay surprised me as I die in very first minutes not far from Richard L. Jenkins for doing what Leeroy did: charging without thinking. LE compared to original is not much improved but instead is more sensitive to mistakes in tactics. The rest should be for you to discover.
Overall I will continue to play LE over originals and I do use to play the trilogy and MEA about twice every year.
Cheers
