Re: Never been this angry at a game...

That's inaccurate. You can keep Tali from being exiled without exposing her father. Here are two ways to do that:

  • You need a high enough paragon or renegade score to convince the admirals that there's not enough evidence to convict Tali.
  • OR; Make sure you don't send Veetor to Cerberus and be sure to keep Kal'Reegar alive in Tali's recruitment mission. If you rally the crowd during the trial, they'll come to Tali's aid.

If you don't want to go this far back, then it's stil perfectly possible to get a disloyal Tali out of the suicide mission alive.

In the phase where you fight the boss, the characters staying behind have to add up to an adequate defensive score. Otherwise, characters start dying, with disloyal characters being prioritized.

An example of a perfect suicide mission run in your case (assuming only Tali is disloyal):

  • Fire team leader: Garrus, Miranda or Jacob
  • Tech expert: If you have the DLC, pick Kasumi. Tali and Legion are ineligible in your playthrough since they are not loyal.
  • Crew escort: Someone with a low defensive score, like Mordin, Jack or Kasumi
  • Biotic expert: Samara / Morinth, or Jack
  • Final boss squad: Two loyal characters with a low defensive score, like Mordin, Jack and Kasumi

There's a flow chart that could help here: http://i.imgur.com/n4QCEnA.jpg

  • That's what confuses me.

Samara was the escort and loyal.

Miranda was the second team leader and romanced.

Morden was the tech expert and loyal(died closing the door).

Legion and Grunt were not loyal because I skipped their missions. Because I don't care if they are in ME3 or not.

So I took these two and Jack with me in the bubble run. Legion died at the final cut scene.

Weird game and an infuriating ending. lol

EDIT...I haven't played Mass Effect 1 because no controller support.

But didn't you say you want both quarian and geth support in ME3? Legion needs to be alive for that.

I forgot to mention this part. I'll update my last post.

Anyway, you can always just edit your savefile if you don't mind a little cheating. Best to import the game into ME3, then use the ME3 save editor: http://svn.gib.me/builds/masseffect3/

  • Legion can die.

The new and improved Legion still allows you to get both fleets....pretty sure.

I seriously hate this clunky old game but I might load an older save and try the ending again.

I'm fighting with ME1 right now.

I have the controller working...all except Interact.

I might just map ENTER to my mouse and keep it beside me for playing but that gets confusing sometimes....m/kb OR controller. Not m/kb AND controller. lol...

I used your chart and FINALLY got the whole team out alive.

My entire crew died though...except the Doctor. Oh well.

I kept the base so Jack is pissed at me. Tali is too but she's alive. lol....

I played the Suicide Mission three times to finally get the right people in the right spots to survive.

I finally took my two weakest loyal members with me and left my strongest behind with Tali. It worked!

Good to hear, but that Tali was not loyal was the problem in the first place.

Exposing her Father is that one thing she precisely told you not to do, but you did it anyway, and that's not a good idea if it comes to women.  😉

    Lol...right?

Thing is...she can't be exiled in my next ME3 game for it to work my way.

You mean because of the fleet?

Actually she can be exiled and you still can make peace if:

    ME2

    You destroyed the heretics.

You resolve the Tali vs Legon conflict with a renegade or paragon solution.

    ME3

You destroy the Geth Squadron on Rannoch.

You save Admiral Koris on Rannoch.

Well, then it was important that you prevented her from being exiled.

You still need to accomplish all the other things I mentioned and you also need to do Legions mission in ME3.

I never got Tali exiled or lost her loyalty in one of my playthroughs, but I had this discussion with a close friend a few years back and he assured me that he made peace with a Tali that was exiled in ME2.

So if that wasn't a glitch in his import, it seams that in order to make peace both Tali and Legion must be present but Tali can be exiled in ME2.

  • Well fuuuu____....

Tali was there. She's an admiral.

    Legion was there. He's loyal.

    Koris was rescued from Rannoch.

My reputation is 100% maxed out.

I did it in order...Chose to let the Geth die and then changed my mind after Legion's speech....Like I was supposed to.

Guess what...The Quarians are dead and Tali took the dive off the cliff.

That's 36 hours(ME2 and 3) completely and utterly wasted. Dammit game. Seriously?

All because I didn't destroy the Heretics in ME2.

Endings in ME3 are determined in ME2 before ME3 even existed....That's BS. You should be able to get all endings in a game based on playing THAT game...not some other game.

Bad planning devs...I'm not even finishing the game and if Andromeda has imported characters or skills...I'm not even buying it.

I just THOUGHT I was angry before.

You're supposed to let Legion do the upload, then try to talk down Admiral Gerrel.

Did you do all related sidequests? Did you do the Tron inspired geth server mission?

If you want you could upload your save file so I could have a look at it.

    I know. Thanks.

You first choose to let the Geth die and after Legion's speech,a second dialog wheel comes up with the option to upload. Then you talk the admiral down.

I have done everything to the letter in ME3.

It takes 5 points and I'm at 4...there is no way to get 5 without playing ME2 again.

Getting both fleets 100% depends on ME2. Without cheating or modding,it cannot be done if you reprogrammed the Heretics.

So most people made their choice about this before ME3 even existed. Funny that game content can be ruled out before the game is even made.

Even the Paragon option to save Tali is virtually impossible if you have ever received even one Renegade point. You literally need 100% Paragon.

These two games are the first to actually make me angry...I just don't care enough about games to worry. Not to mention most games let you back up a save or two to change things...they don't force you to start over from the beginning of a game previous to this game in a series.

If a decision doesn't present consequences in a couple hours (tops) it shouldn't have consequences. Period.

In this case,a choice made 2 hours into ME2 comes to fruition 20 hours into ME3...That means there is 40 hours of gameplay between the choice and the outcome. That is beyond ridiculous.

That's the wrong way, you let Legion make his upload and then you have the opportunity to talk the Quarians down.  (Paragon or Renegade choice in the next dialogue)

Also, did you do the Server mission on Rannoch?

Well, most people wanted there decisions to have consequences.

Edit: But the Geth vs Quarians outcome is only determined if you let Tali get exiled and rewrite the Heretics or, if you didn't do both, don't resolve the Tali/Legon conflict with a renegade or paragon solution, and that is not the case in your game.

So you can make peace between the races.

I kept Tali from being exiled and rewrote the Geth.

There was no conflict between the two in this case.

    @mckrackin5324

First, I edited my Post a second time to make it more clear.

Second, I never choose the "We're letting the Geth die" option, so I wasn't sure if that works too.

But what it means is that you either didn't do the Server mission on Rannoch (Legions mission) and/or that you didn't destroyed the Geth Squadron on Rannoch and/or that you didn't resolved the Tali vs Legion conflict in ME2 with a Paragon or Reneged choice.

    So which one is it?

If it is the ME2 Tali vs Legion conflict you can use Gibbed's Mass Effect 3 save editor (saveedit-r90_b116.zip)  to change that.

There is a conflict between Tali and Legion in ME2 and you need to solve this conflict with a Paragon or Reneged option to get the 1 point you need.

    There was no conflict.

I waited and waited. It never happened.

I kept Tali from being exiled. She is an admiral in ME3.

    I rewrote the Heretics.

    I did all the missions.

I saved the admiral over his troops.

My reputation is 100% maxed out...slightly more Paragon than Renegade.

The reputation option are not greyed out...they just aren't there.

I just tried it again and chose the upload right off the bat...same outcome.

    I appreciate all the replies.

I'm frustrated as hell with this game design though.

All outcomes should be possible within the single game and one game should never delete content from another in the series.

If there was no conflict then there is a glitch in your game. You need at least 3 Points out of ME2 to be able to make peace, and you only got 2 by preventing Tali from being exiled.

So your only option is to use the editor.

If you have questions about how to, feel free to ask.

FYI, Answers HQ is a first and foremost a tech support forum. If you want to discuss gameplay and strategy, you'll probably get more in-depth answers on the unofficial BioWare forum (the official forum is closing down): http://bsn.boards.net/

    Thanks.

I still think this is a technical issue since there was no conflict between Tali and Legion but hey....

At any rate,I used that save editor and at first it didn't work...I've killed that reaper 7 times today. hahahaha

I even changed gender to make sure it was working...it was.

I made Tali and Legion loyal but the Quarians died anyway.

So I went further back and killed off the Heretics and that worked.

I finally got my big fleet and Tali back in my squad. All is right in the world...except the cheating part. lol

That save editor has a hilarious side effect....

I went ahead and checked the box to romance Tali but the game still recognizes my relationship with Miranda so I got the full romance with both and didn't break up with anybody. hahaha

Of course...being the game breaker that I am...I wondered what would happen if I romanced Traynor as a male...It works but Shepard doesn't talk. Just sub titles because Spec. Traynor is a * only affair and no male actor has ever read for it. Hahaha...But yeah...I got her nekkid as a dude 😉

EDIT...Seriously? Les....bian is on the profanity filter?
