Re: Photo Mode Pictures Not Saving (PC)

Adding launchers and screenshots folder to exceptions wont work for me, but I had 2 antiviruses. Free one(Avast), and paid one(Malwarebytes). I just uninstalled that free one and now photo mode works fine even without adding exceptions to Malwarebytes. So the real reason is antivirus itself. Dont know how about others, but its funny(through tears) thing, that some of them could cause such problems with just damn screenshots. So.. If adding exceptions works for you - good. If not - try to disable antivirus while playing.

Jfyi, Malwarebytes is not a full Anti-Virus Program but a specialised software for Malware.
You never should install two Anti-Virus programs at the same time, (As said, Malwarebytes as an addition is fine.) because than this problem might seem like a little inconvenience to what you could experience then. 😉

The exceptions should work in Avast as well, I would recommand to recheck the settings.

I would not recommend to disable the Anti-Virus Program wile gaming.

If the exceptions in the anti-virus programme or in "Controlled Folder Access" do not work, it is more likely that there is a permission problem that prevents the screenshots from being saved.

@holger1405Hard to say. However I removed Avast for being too "fat" (eating more than 2.5gb) and leave windows protection only. Also kept documents folder separate from main partition as a protection against "* happens" so picture mode works just fine now. Still not using it because I prefer to capture the images as I play (including during dialogs https://ibb.co/C7txt2T )
like https://i.ibb.co/gM0pPQM/Mass-Effect1-2021-05-22-14-31-47-1.png versus photo mode https://i.ibb.co/H7Yynx8/Screen-Shot00001.png

@holger1405 Sorry for off-topic, but Malwarebytes not a full Anti-Virus? maybe it was only antimalware some time ago, but I have premium version and now It have everything what was in Avast, or other AV. Real-time protections, automatic daily scans, and it's real good. Even on basic version worked and detected more and better than Avast with protection. Even descriptions, overviews and opinions in internet says that Malwarebytes changed from anti-malware program to pretty full AV program. At least it may be recognized as full AV program, because it have most of core functions which other AV programs have too to be "AV program" and not only Anti-malware program.

I over read that you have the paid premium version, so yes, that is a full-featured Anti-virus program.

On reason more to not install a second virsu scanner on the same system. 😉
