Well, before MEA I had a vague curiosity to try Sudoku, but now I have no desire whatsever. So I just buy the decrypts and for that one 'skill' puzzle in Eladaan, I just refer to the screen shot.

Those decryptions were awesome, i never used a module to decrypt any of them because they were what made the vaults and remnant tech fun to crack. If anything i would have liked to see more of them as bringing a completely alien structure online should never be an easy thing.
I quite like sudoku used in this way, it beats just pressing a use button hands down as involves an element of extra skill. It is also good though that they have a way of bypassing them too as not everyone relates well to logic.

There are some different settings for Sudoku that can be interesting to try, not promising you would like them, though. I think there are variants with other names, something like Samurai, I think? And some other combined charts, layered Sudokus, rather challenging.
However, I concur that MEA could have brought something else for puzzle solving. I think they even tried some stuff, with those light pillars emerging to show in which order they should be activated, etc. But I do think everything used is much less troublesome than riddles. Riddles can be terrible to solve when English is not your main language, specially when they use some sort of old and archaic wording.

See? This is what I'm talking about. Wenneed more mini-games and puzzles in games that make us think and use our brains. We're getting complacent. We need to do better.
