Reaction to Mass Effect Andromeda April 4th Announcment

After the April 4th announcement, while I'm glad they will fix the eyes and some of the buggy stuff, as well as the jumping between planets, my main concern, and one I thought would be addressed, is that some of the tasks do not have navigation to them.  Maybe it's just that I like to be able to finish my game, but when I completed the game the first time, I couldn't finish some of the tasks.

I used walkthroughs to help me, but the task Subjugation still wouldn't resolve.  None of the items were where the walkthroughs said they were and I had already completed the vault, but the task was still listed as unfinished, saying that I needed to collect the kett devices.  This is just one of the tasks that I found annoying, especially if I didn't complete it right away because I was trying to complete something bigger, and by the time I got back to it, I had no idea where to start.  There are some tasks that have navigational points, and that's really all I'm asking for.  I think that would help gameplay immensely for me.

  • Tasks you're talking about are copypasted from Dragon Age: Bears randomly spawned sidequests objectives. If you played DA3 for example there was a certain sidemission where you needed to free 3 slaves - these slaves appeared in randomly spawned red templar camps but you never knew where it'll happen so basically you had to grind over the whole huge map till you stumble upon them. A walkthrough or helping someone over forums is impossible in this case - the objectives in your game never appear at same spots as in another player's game.

This type of quest design is one of the most horrible ideas in an openworld I've seen in my life. Neither Dragon Age nor Mass Effect are roguelikes, at least aren't advertised as such and apart from these few specific sidemissions, no other main or side mission has an objective spawned at some random spot so a player needs to go "pixelhunting".

Anyway, because objectives spawn on random locations, it's not possible to have a map marker to them.

Here's hope devs will understand that grinding through a whole map just to complete a task is annoying and boring, will make spawn spots fixed instead of random or will remove these horrible tasks completely from the game.
