Don't tell anyone and keep Sarissa as Pathfinder because I understood her decision and I felt that telling people what happened would only unnecessarily complicate things.
My only disappointment in the Sarissa thing is that the data appears to have no affect on anything,
Hehe, right let me answer that also in anti-spoiler mode.
I have a more nefarious political view on this. There are 3 other Pathfinders.
Macen is already gone as you find out so I encourage Avitus to take over and of course he does so hey, we're good.
Raeka I let die so Hayjer takes over and we're good.
Sarissa I tell the truth about and Vederia takes over and we're good.
So now all Pathfinders are the new generation and I'm the most experienced Pathfinder of the lot. Just cementing my position as Uberpathfinder 😉

I have a similar view
Sarissa is the backup, and owes me for saving her people and not ratting her out
Raeka dies so NO ONE has an original pathfinder, Hayjer is the backup, and he owes me for saving his people
I still come out as number 1😉

Raeka was my obvious choice. While the Kett experiments on Krogan are nearing exaltation, they are not there yet. And in the long term it may prove to be beneficial to let the Kett do the work if they can cure the genophage and the we can then secure the data for Andromeda Krogans.
Also one species does not define the MW races. Salarians may be much shorter lived, but the IQ they muster collectively can and does in many instances prove decisive at key moments. Lets not forget it was the Salarians that uplifted the Krogan and were one of the first council races. Salarians as a species are more valuable in an exploration venture like the Initiative than Krogans. When combined with Humans, Turians and Asari, its an extremely potent force to be reckoned with.
In the long term, we can beat any exalted Kett forces with science. Brute force is not required.
I also went for the rookie Asari. Sarissa made the worst possible choices as a Pathfinder she could. She abandoned a colleague (and superior) in dire circumstances, which were caused by her reckless action of stealing data from the Kett that may prove to be completely useless compared to Ryders vast data collection on Kett forces. The role is "Pathfinder", ie find a way forward. Her decisions jeopardized the lives of 10k Asari based on pure ego. The obvious move would have been to slow down Kett forces and allow the Ark to escape, not raid them for intel and have them hound the Ark across the cluster. If that means sacrificing herself to ensure the survival of her species in the cluster, so be it. That's what heroism is. Knowing you will most likely die trying to save lives, but doing it anyway.
She then lies about it, covers it up and acts like she is somehow "superior" to everyone else again based on ego. She is not. The survival of the Arks are the paramount concern, not who is in charge. If I as pathfinder do not report her actions and have her replaced, I am condoning her actions in sacrificing 10k souls on an ego trip. I dont care how powerful a biotic she is, she is reckless, selfish, egotistical and untrustworthy. The prime example of a bad commanding officer.
Also; whats the spoiler code here? thanks.

To be fair, Sarissa and Cora did blow up a Kett warship with their minds....
Plus Valatria is still such a newbie she needed Cora to tell her how to do her job. A lot.

Anyway, the Salarian scientific geniuses decided the best plan was to surrender wholesale to the Kett (which Raeka may or may not have been in on) and let them be tortured, experimented on and vivisected at will, a fate that had befallen thousands of the colonists by the time we arrived.
While it is almost certain that the Kett have all of the DNA/exaltation information they need from the Salariens by this point, the same cannot be said for the Krogan, and removing the handful of Krogan the Kett have captured will hopefully slow their attempts to improve Kett troops

Er, except for the basically completed Krogan Kett on the Archon's ship?
