[Steam] ME1 Can't interact with anything by pressing spacebar

I have just started playing ME1 LE on Steam. I am abroad Normandy after first mission (securing the beacon). My next goal is to talk with Joker but I can't open doors or use an elevator. Or even talk to my crew mates. I am pressing the spacebar and I am close to the people or an object and nothing happens. It seems like a bug but it is already 2024 and this kind of a bug should be fixed already. Anyone with the same experience? Maybe community bug fixes mods help? Tried saving and reloading and it didn't help.

    I have found the solution. I just need to press the spacebar two times quickly and it works.

    @shinythedevilcat 

    A bug is unlikely in this case, more likely a problem with your system.

    Did you tried the bind Use/ Cover/ Storm to another key to see if it works there?
    Does your Keyboard have a configuration software?
