Hey, @Zul_Tabris This has been tested on different machines and does work as it should. Steam Overlay is not a part of the EA app so it has nothing to do with that app when the game is launched.
What steps have you taken to get the overlay to show up past an reinstall of the game and Steam?
I've tried running every app involved as admin, toggled the EA Overlay on then off, the Steam Overlay off then back on in both the general settings and the MELE settings, changing the overlay hotkey, deleted web browser data in Steam, I've reinstalled the entire game from scratch and verify files, reinstalled the EA app. I've tried every supposed fix from several forums and videos.
When I launch the game it opens the EA app, whether I have it running in the background or not. I've tried both to see if that makes a difference. It doesn't. The EA app IS involved with launching the game. It worked fine when it forced Origin to open and now that it forces the EA app to open instead it doesn't. Just because it works fine for some people doesn't mean the EA app IS the cause.

Thanks. Have you run through the following steps to see if these help?
Steps taken:
- Running every app involved as admin.
- Toggling the EA Overlay on then off.
- Toggling the Steam Overlay off then back on in both the general settings and the MELE settings.
- Changing the overlay hotkey.
- Deleting web browser data in Steam.
- Reinstalling the entire game from scratch and verifying files.
- Reinstalling the EA app.
- Trying to launch the game with the EA app running in the background or not.
Next steps to take:
1. Ensure Compatibility and Updates
Make sure both Steam and the EA app are up to date.
Ensure Mass Effect Legendary Edition is also fully updated.
2. Disable EA Overlay Completely
3. Verify Game Integrity Again
4. Check for Conflicting Software
Disable or uninstall any third-party software that might interfere with the overlay (e.g., Discord overlay, MSI Afterburner, Rivatuner).
Temporarily disable antivirus or firewall software that might block the overlay.
5. Add EA App as a Non-Steam Game
In Steam, go to Games > Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library.
Add the EA app.
Run the EA app from Steam to ensure it's running within Steam's environment.
Then, launch Mass Effect Legendary Edition from Steam.
6. Edit the Game's Launch Options
Right-click on Mass Effect Legendary Edition in your Steam Library.
Select Properties.
In the General tab, find the "Launch Options" field.
Add the following launch option: -steam (if this doesn't work, try removing it or using other related options) I added the EALauncher.exe & EADesktop.exe as a Non-Steam Game.
Running either of those through Steam then launching Mass Effect Legendary Edition from Steam fixed it! 🧙

Awesome! Happy to see this started working for you!
Can confirm, adding `\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\EALauncher.exe` to your Steam Library as a non-steam game, then running that *before* running MELE works to enable the steam overlay in MELE.
