Too many additional tasks. I will not do them.

As title.
There are too many additional tasks and many of them are too boring to do them all.

Will I loose some important part of the game if I will not do them?

  • No, nothing important will be lost except for a bit of story.  They aren't hard to do and don't take much time.  Simply listen for SAM to speak up as you near an encounter.  If he say's something, it usually means there is something there of note.  If you do that as you're driving around to complete major missions you'll have them completed in no time.

Some of them are pretty bad though. I love the game but seriously...

Like on Aya. The shuttle pilot needs things for outposts and can't get in the city. So I'll go grab them.

He gives me a list of three things. I enter the city and run all the way to the other side.

I grab the first thing and instead of prompting the second,it tells me to take that thing back to the shuttle pilot.

    C'Mon man.

And those missions that involve leaving the planet, then the solar system, travelling to another system, then another planet, checking your loadout and squad, landing on the planet, travelling across the map and when you finally get there, all it is is a single question and answer and it sends you to another planet in another system to do it all again.

There are missions that involve three or four planets like this. Half an hour of travelling to do 14 seconds of content. Most of it is just loading screen animations.

Like I said...I love the game but it gives new definition to busy work.

When I notice that I am using fast travel a lot...I know the game is losing me.

Sorry, but i have to disagree with you there.

most of the additional tasks have no waypoint and when sam tells me about something, i have already destroyed every enemy and used the item and since the item was used before he finished, the quest never got updated, which means....quest got glitched.

That happend with all but one of these quests that has no waypoint, but the last one got a waypoint at the end of the hours of searching EOS for camps, which have no icon on the map at all, the waypoint led to a camp, i took the enemies before sam finished talking and the quest didn't update from 'defeat Kett forces' so that means, you HAVE to wait for him to finish talking, which means, you got to let the AI shoot at you endlessly for him to finish talking about something i already know.

sorry, but this problem put me off of playing a second playthrough of this game, the choices were minimal and it honestly doesn't matter which choice you make, the outcome at the end is virtually the same, just different people arrive, nothing else and those differences do not warrant a second playthrough....sadly.

The thing about these side quests is they are optional for those of us who love doing that stuff, those who don't can ignore them and not miss much.

Personally its one of the things I love about the game, plenty of reason to explore and my pathfinder gets to help people which is what she does 🙂 but everythings optional accept for the main story so if you don't wanna do them you dont have to, thats the point.

My problem is I started playing multiplayer (after a week of campaign), now I cant stop playing multiplayer (I just need that next level/weapon/skill), and I am finding it hard to go back to campaign. I do but I do it in fits and starts. I'm heading back to clean up some achievements and progress story a bit but I've lost my passion for towers and vaults. I plan on doing the bigger stuff now like the arks and planet viability (and achievement related stuff) then just pushing though to complete the story.

I may well come back to do minor quests at a later time, but will only be to keep multiplayer fresh.
