Unable to launch Mass Effect: Legendary Edition

Update: I've been looking for every single possible solution I can find and have tried everything.

At first I thought this was an error with the EA app, since almost everyone is having problems with that, but after failing to find any workaround, I'm not so sure anymore if that's my case.

I've tried the custom launcher from the Nexus, tried using Origin instead of the EA app (And used every single workaround I could find for that one as well), and tried using the direct .exes instead of the launcher's (Meaning: I tried using the ME1, ME2 and ME3 .exes directly instead of using the MELE launcher), tried turning compatibility mode for all of them, tried running as administrator with each one, tried both compatibility AND running as admin, and all of this met the same problem: It doesn't even try to start. It's like it detects I need Origin or EA and opens whichever I have installed, and then gives up.

There's no new processes in the background, no blank game window that crashes, nothing. So I don't even know where to start troubleshooting again.

In any case, I saw that most of the times users are asked for a dxdiag report in these issues, so I attached one in this post.

Once again, sorry for any typos and/or mistakes, English is not my first language. (Also, the dxdiag is in Spanish, I don't know if that's an issue, let me know and I'll see if I can get a new one in English)

Could you provide a screenshot of the EA window you see?

What is the exact error message you see after that Window? (The error message in Spanish is fine.)

If their problem is the same as mine (and it does sound a lot like that), there is no error message. Just the blank EA “login” pop up and than nothing. The window in question is called link2EA. I have looked up the solutions on that topic but none worked for me.

Looks like a link error between Steam and EA app.

Unlink and relink your accounts.

If that don't works:

Please clear your temp files:

• Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
• Into the new window, type or copy & paste:  "%temp%"   (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
• Now your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
  (If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)

Then:

• Go here and download "Revo Uninstaller". (The freeware version, Portable version works too.)
• Run "Revo Uninstaller" > Uninstall EA app.
• At the end of the main uninstall, Revo will ask you which cleaning method you want to use. > Select "Moderate" > Browse.
• If "Remaining registration content found" is displayed > Select All > Delete > Next
• When "Remaining Data and Folders" is displayed > Select All (Make sure the "Origin Games" folder is not in the list) > Delete.
• Restart the PC > Start the game from Steam (Should download EA app.)
• Test.

First, just wanted to confirm that my problem is indeed as the other person commented. Just the blank Link2EA window that closes with no error message nor code.

Now, just followed all of these steps and the game still doesn't open. At this point I could get a refund and be done with it, but I really want to play Mass Effect, sad days. (I'm aware you're just a fellow player trying to help, all my negativity is towards EA, not you. I'm grateful for any help you try to give even if it doesn't work in the end)

You are completely right. Unfortunately, I bought the game as a bundle (The entire DA and ME franchises) and I think I can't refund it because of that, or maybe I could've refunded it even if it was a bundle but I missed my chance, no idea which option is the right answer, but in the end both mean I won't be getting my money back, so I'll have to wait until EA fixes their launcher.

First of all, I want to apologize for appearing 3 weeks late. Honestly, I had given up on this and forgot about it, so I never checked again. Today I decided to check one last time out of curiosity and saw your response.

Now, why did I apologize? Because if I had logged in back then, I would've been able to mark you as a solution much sooner. I can't describe how amazed I was at the game's launching screen after taking your advice, it opened without a single issue, you just allowed me access to hours of gameplay with such a simple solution, I can't thank you enough. Wish you a great life! Hopefully EA will fix this so we don't need to go through all of these hoops.

I'll add onto this thread, tastefully late just for the sake of it.

To keep things short, I've followed through all the instructions in this thread, and many others, and I've gotten exactly zero success getting Mass Effect: Legendary Edition to start.

I'm not precisely sure what could be wrong anymore, we had the exact same issue, the blank EA window popping up, and then doing nothing, but yet the same solution just hasn't seemed to have worked. I hope that there's more effort into solving these issues aside from us having to jump through a dozen or so hoops, but as of right now, some things just don't want to work, I guess.
