VAULTS | Their real purpose. Your thoughts?

I've always viewed this from a simplistic perspective.  The Jardaan created the Angara and created the technology we call Remnant to make life sustainable for them in this galaxy.  Experiment or some grand design, I don't know.  But someone didn't like it, hence the Scourge.  Might be a bit far fetched, but the fact that MA:E introduces the idea of the Kett's exaltation shows a direct contrast to the creation of the Jardaan.  I believe there is a reason that contrast was introduced, but there isn't enough info yet to really know why.

Edit:  And as to the human-friendly vaults, I think that was just coincidence.  The Angaran are the only ones whose "fruit" we scan and find edible.  I think the devs were trying to show that there are similarities to us strictly for this reason.

We know that planets were golden 600 years ago and since scourge came later i say there was a massive war that royally screwed over the cluster. The Jaardan built the vaults to repair the cluster but the other side was having none of it and as a final measure dropped the scourge. I mean Jaardan use way too much automation for their tech and the other side basically used a cluster buster on them. So the war royally screwed over both the sides and both did whatever they could to gain an advantage with what they had. The remnants probably wanted planets where they could build up again and the Angara were going to be a slave/clone army to continue the fight. The other side used what they had ie Scourge to target remtech specifically. 

The above is the first answer the second is something i hate but would not be surprised. Organics vs synthetics, the remnants were going more synthetic in their tech and the other side wanted the organic supremacy (forefathers of the kett culture perhaps). That was that was the cause of war while Angara were meant to be enhanced with cybernetics clone soldiers, their designed bio electricity ability to power the VI or AI enhancements.

Looking at how the reaper story played out and how similar the kett exaltation story is compared to indoctrination.  My guess would be that their maybe reusing the order vs chaos theory.  The scourge is created by "Order" whoever they are, and they job is to purge all that is unnatural to this galaxy.  The Jaadan created the angara and terraformed the planets and were using advanced AI/VI to do their work could be viewed as chaos and unnatural.  Milky way folks are not from andromeda and could eventually be viewed as unnatural and targeted?  The Kett will eventually make contact on a larger scale and the Archon's faction is actually Heretics(sounds familiar?)...  Who knows maybe we will get a Kett on our crew in MEA2 (perhaps with the name of another demon from the bible).

Are we sure that the vaults weren't the reason there was an unusually high number of Golden Worlds in this galaxy/cluster?

And story wise, it has always been unusual to me that making things human friendly was somehow good for everyone (as well as how all of us have the sex parts in the same place and basically sex the same)... but I chalked that up to outside game reasons.

I mean we travel 2 plus million light years away and there's a planet already pre optimal for human life somehow and the people living there look virtually nothing like us.

I believe that the Turian gold planet was actually destroyed by the Jardaan, on purpose.  For the very reason you mentioned, it was ideally located for the production of Helium 3, and the vault they placed there was a massive tiller, something that would shift the soils of the broken world, exposing more of the planet's soil to solar radiation, causing it to create Helium 3.  The game might have suggested that the Scourge broke the planet, but it just seemed too much like the vault there was custom tailored for that specific situation, and so, came before the scourge.

Okay, so what if the vaults make planets viable for Jaarden artificial life to live and the people deploy the scourge because to them this whole thing is wrong so they are trying to stop it.  Like they are morally against what the being creating those life forms are doing.

Wow, that was...  what you said there PandaTar.  That has to be the most well thought out comment ever.  Life changing really and I think everyone should read what you just said there.

 There's also the possibility that they will move the worlds past the sweet spot for Milky way refugee habitation and on to some unknown terraformed ideal for their creators. Maybe we just caught them midstream when we first looked. Nothing that could survive with radiation, poisonous gasses/vacuum, or giant electrical storms would bother with altering the environment in the first place so reversing that has to be beneficial to us both.

The Turian planet ruins probably had to have at least gone past strictly mining, or we wouldn't of thought it a golden world... unless it was somehow naturally a golden world for dextros when they built the vault. The game isn't really clear if the production of Helium3 is just SAM repurposing the remnant, if it is just some natural byproduct/step in terraforming, or if that was the intention of the ruins in the first place. Not sure if the lack of atmospheric towers is Jaardan intentional, just because those pieces of planet got blown off, or if Bioware just left them off since we weren't going to activate them anyway.

The vaults seem to be there to do things below ground, the towers above ground, and it all goes toward terraforming.
