VAULTS | Their real purpose. Your thoughts?
I was mulling over this idea – surely, most likely wasting my time with it – of the purpose of a Vault.
The story we have is:
- Long range scanners identified potential worlds, 600 years back.
- We know the Scourge appeared somewhere in the middle of our journey.
- We know the Scourge was s response to the Remnant.
- Vaults are mainly used to terraform a planet.
- When we settle down at Habitat 7, they estimate Remnant technology is several hundred of years old.
So, what do you think?
It makes a hazy theory. If, for example, the Remnants are younger than 600 years old, we are infering that these vaults were built on planets which were already viable. So, why were they built there to begin with?
The turian gold planet was completely destroyed by the Scourge. But there was a vault there. However, differently from the other vaults, that one was made to induce the production of Hellium. Which makes one wonder if the Scourge destroyed the planet when there was no vaults on it, and a vault was built after the cataclismic event, or if the Architect there repurposed the vault for a new task.
Also, why would the vault terraforming be completely human-friendly? Why would the angara breath the same air, have the same, supposed, requirements for life like humans and other MW species? Why wouldn't their terraforming be making a volus-friendly planet instead?
Are these vaults simply what they are? Or did SAM's interaction inclined terraforming for human use, but it wasn't intended to at first?
What are you ideas around it?
