Who's the benefactor?

Of everything they left us with a cliff hanger on, I feel that's the one they could have given us an answer to. That being said, if they told who the benefactor was near the end of the game I think it would frustrating because there'd be nothing you could do about it, or it'd be too big of a story arc to cram into the end of ME:A.

I like that they've set up reveals for several things in potential squeals.

• Who is the benefactor
• Will Sara/Scott be able to wake/cure Ellen Ryder?
• Who is in charge of the Kett, how far is their reach and when will the final battle against them take place.
• Who created the rem-tech? Will we see them in future games?
• Who or what created the scourge? What happens if they come back?
• Will Sara/Scott be able to get of the scourge?
• Will we not have annoying random/excessively time consuming tasks (i.e. Little Mouse) with no map indicators?

Once Anthem bombs, EA will be rethinking cancelling ME:A, so give it a few years.

Because it will be a cold day in hell before I buy the comics or book.

I have zero intentions of buying a book. (sorry if you are the author of these) but to put it simply my interest will be renewed WHEN I see the position of Mass Effect Andromeda, or even a fresh mass effect (eg. not anthem) gets the attention it deserves.

Comic?  ffs.. come on, really?   you kill an IP and you're telling us to go buy into a comic?  how stupid do they think the player base is?  oh wait...

  Oh, that's easy. The hint is with Alic Ryder's love and infatuation of the AI SAM, his creation. We know why he created SAM (no spoilers) but who or what gave him the idea. The benefactor. Hundreds of years earlier Commander Shepard had a back up plan to save humanity. Just in case things went south and they did. He reprogrammed EDI to help find a new home far from the Milky Way becoming the silent partner. Thus giving the idea of SAM to Alic Ryder. EDI is alive!

  No....not really, I don't know. Going to go throw rocks at windows now.😉

Popular opinion says it's The Illusive Man. However, BioWare hasn't always planned far ahead in the Mass Effect series, so there's a good chance they never had a solid answer themselves. It's like how they didn't even know the Reapers' purpose when they made Mass Effect 1.

And, it would be so lazy if that's the actual answer. And if that was the answer, why still hide it even at the end of the game? I don't recall any mention of Cerberus during ME:A either - maybe once or twice in passing. But Andromeda Initiative seems to be its own thing; especially considering nonhumans are involved.

If Cerberus is involved, they weren't part of the planning, just additional funding. Cerberus is pro-human, not anti-alien, so it would make sense if they sent some cash to the Andromeda Initiative in an attempt to save humanity even if it means saving alien races as well. They wouldn't mind that at all.

I think they intended to unravel that mystery in a sequel. Fingers crossed we'll eventually get one.

Re: Remnant.

So Peebee creates the name Remnant for convenience...just so we have something to call them, but the reason she calls them Remnant is because she describes how evidence leads towards all of this type of tech on every world that was left by this precursor race are ALL "remnants" of something bigger. Or tools left behind by something bigger. So that instantly leads me to ask....

Who built this technology that is spread across the entire cluster or universe as we know it?

Why have they left these worlds after installing these epic terraforming and atmospheric-manipulation devices?

Are they coming back?

Will they be pissed at us for interfering with their stuff?

Mainly I just want to know who they are. Clearly they are a super advanced race to be able to build this stuff, and transport it galaxy-wide, and install it deep beneath planets surfaces. And they seem to predate every other race and species. So maybe they are extinct? To me it seems a bit like the mystery of the Pyramids but we are talking about Pyramids that were built before Humans were around 🙂  All we get to see are their automated robotics that tend to guard Remnant areas and sites. The observers etc

NOTE - I am only 55% through so if this is something that gets revealed later on through the story mode please dont spoil it for me by telling me the answer...Thanks 🙂

ALSO - I havent played previous Mass Effect games yet (I will be soon tho) so same goes - if its something that gets revealed in story dont tell me 🙂

Can i just start really by saying.. you don't want to know the answer to your Remnant creators question yet, because at 55% the way through, you have some major discoveries ahead of you and it will both answer your question(s) and also present you with enough scope to fire your imagination further.

There IS already some amazing theories out there from people who have beaten the game and i recommend that you really read them once you've beated your first play through to the end.

The only thing i'm going to tell you is that you will enjoy the game and where it leads you, but this will not be without certain choices you make during game play in the run up to it having a part in it too.   There is obvious and very natural questions right now about 'where did this stuff come from?' and for me this kind of discovery factor is something i've not had in a SCI-FI game since LucasArts made a game years ago called 'The Dig'

So enjoy the game, and theorise more later once you've found what there is out there to be found 😉
