I recently bought the N7 Digital Deluxe Edition and i have the game downloaded, but when it's finished installing it gives me an error message saying
Error: A redistributable package (Direct X) was not installed successfully. Setup cannont continue. (- 1073741819)
i know direct x on my computer is up to date, i have no idea what to do here.
Which DirectX is up to date? As far as I'm aware, DirectX9, 10 and 11 are not backwards compatible, so having one up to date while you need the other to be, won't work. Mass Effect 3 is a DirectX 9 game, so make sure you update that one.
That said, the installer should include DirectX 9, and it seems that installation was corrupt. I think setup may try to install DirectX 9 from this installer regardless of whether it's up to date or not. I don't think it will work, but you can try reinstalling DirectX 9 manually: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429
