Yes, I get that that could be an issue for gamers new to the series. It's just that I personally would prefer multiplayer with "bare minimum improvement", or no improvements at all, than no multiplayer whatsoever. The original @30fps 1080p doesn't look/play bad. Just enable controller support for PC.
Also, I'm no dev either but, the technical "problems" of porting over an already existing game component for consoles/pc (without the "tweaks") seems minimal.
And to avoid an unnecessary delay to the May release, the multiplayer could be released later as 'Free DLC'; which would give new gamers enough time to finish ME 1&2, and the game developers time to add the "UI tweaks" "weapon balancing" etc.. This can easily be accomplished with all the money they're about to make.
I think the best solution would be for EA to stop selling the trilogy and instead include it with the Legendary Edition. That's how it works for some other remasters and enhanced editions, including Bioshock and Divinity: Original Sin.

The original is 720p. Looks pretty bad to me.

I meannnnn there will be people complaining about changes to the originals and losing mods and all that jazz so they would still have to support the original trilogy at least as an offline game for people that already own it wouldnt they?
But aside from that i like the idea as long as the legendary edition isnt broken. if it came out like warcraft reforged and replaced the original version but was worse it would reaaaaally suck.
If the launch is smooth and it is a noticable improvement on the original then yeah i agree that taking 6 more months to work on the multiplayer and moving everything over (surely they wouldnt make us restart progress?) would probably be better long term.Still inclined to think that they will save their energy for a new multi in ME5 rather than rebuilding ME3 just to replace it 2 or 3 years later.

Realy? Then why does it say ME 1,2,&3 have 720p,1080i, and 1080p as playable resolutions on the back of the box for each game disk? More importantly, how have I played all three at 1080p... with no mods?

@Ibn-Dragons Those are output resolutions, not the native render resolutions. All games in the trilogy are rendered at 1280x720 on Xbox 360 and PS3 (and ME3 on WiiU as well). The Xbox 360 can output the game in 1080p, but that's just a stretched image. Very few games on Xbox 360 and PS3 run at native 1080p.
