Xbox Physical Bugged or Incomplete?

Hey I just picked up my copy's of ME Legendary (BOTH PS4 and Xbox One) and I'm just so confused with the Xbox One Version.

It's 2 Blu-Rays like PS4 but I seem to only have about 700MBs Install off the Installation Disc and then the rest off the Play Disc up to 21GBs TOTAL. Then there is a 9GB Day One Patch, but it seems that Mass Effect 2 & 3 have to be fully DOWNLOADED at an additional 66GBs or so... Like WTF? 🤷 For perspective the PS4 Version Installs BOTH Discs for about 86GBs Total then the Day One Patch which is 11GBs.

Like did EA legit just WASTE a Blu-Ray here 🤔 I'm probably gonna return the game if this is the case and just buy the Xbox Version whenever it hits the Bargain Bin UNLESS (and I'm HOPING) I just have a bugged copy or some *???

Dropping this here for others. I’ve added it to a few other threads too :

I figured this out...... finally. It's not simple.

So..... to install the ME 2 & 3 from the discs you have to:
    1. Make sure you have auto-updates turned off (under settings)
    2. First install the game from the GAME DISC (ignore install disc)
    3. You will then have to go online to validate the install (WTF EA) before you can do anything
    4. You'll still get asked to download the Day 1 update - DECLINE THIS INSTALL
    5. Set your Xbox to offline under network settings
    6. Load the game
    7. From the menu, select install for Mass Effect 2.... it will install and eventually ask for Installation Disc

    See.... simple.....

I hope this helps someone like me. If you have data caps it's best to avoid large downloads, where possible

  • @gtafreaksydney1 The digital Xbox version downloads Mass Effect 1, then you install 2 and 3 from the game launcher.

Sounds like the physical copy does the same then?

Why is this a problem? 2 and 3 will download while you play 1?

Yeah but the reason I buy Physical is to have it on the Disc/Discs... And like I said the FULL game is Installed off the 2 Blu-Rays on PlayStation, was wondering if I had a defective Disc 2 or if EA/MS REALLY threw in a blank Blu-Ray just to be 2 Disc like PlayStation 4 for whatever reason... I also don't like the fact that they don't even tell you how to install 2 Disc Games which is just complete stupidity regardless (granted I don't need it since I'll just assume it's Disc 2 then Disc 1 like PS4 Mult Blu-Ray Titles but the average consumer is a right * after all 🤷)

Okay apparently you CAN Install the whole Trilogy off the 2 Discs, but you have to "Go Offline" as they force you into going Digital (for ME 2/3) otherwise...

What a STUPID thing this is, if I have the FULL GAME on these Discs why force me into DOWNLOADING any of it 🤷 like again PS4 no issue and they clearly say on the Discs themselves what order to put them in to Install everything (Disc 2 first, Disc 1 second blah blah blah) I guess Microsoft thought it would be a good idea to make their Consoles basically kill the second Disc if the system detects an Internet Connection, why? WHO KNOWS, but I'm not happy about it to say the least (especially since I'm playing them on PS4 first and I wasted HOURS not playing the game simply because I was trying to figure this crap out 🤬)

I am trying to install ME2 & 3 from the installation disc on my XBSX.  I cannot get it to install.  When I load the game, the "Install Game" does nothing when I'm offline.  If I put in the installation disc, it tells me to put in the play disc and loads the game.

I'm extremely unhappy that the games I bought aren't on the disc.

Not only can you not install ME 2 & 3 from the disc, but you have to actually "go online" to verify your installation of the first game.  This is pathetic.

  • Damn, can't speak for Series X just Xbone X. It's as simple as "Go Offline" on that System, you still actually have to boot into the game and select Install for ME2 and ME3 and then be Prompted to put the Second Disc in when needed... As I said, PlayStation is just so much more simple, they don't even include instructions on how to use/Install 2 Disc Games on Xbox which I find absolutely ridiculous 😒

  • So I am trying (and have been for hours) to install ME2 on my Xbox One and it keeps getting stuck at 82% (digital copy). Any tips you can share to help cause I am getting to the point where I am done with this.

    Thanks!
