experienced bugs and suggestions

hopefully this time the post won't be deleted for no listed reason :')

AUDIO

- Sim voices will change pitch randomly, this includes NPCs and Player characters. The issue seemed to be more frequent/more noticeable with Goth Boy from my experience.

- Boombox for "dance battle" will not repeat audio after the first loop, or at the very least, the music stops by the time the player's sim starts dancing.

- Builder music will not rotate and will instead choose one track and loop it, unlike the changing music in the original.

- This was an issue in the original as well, the distortion and overall SUPER LOUD audio of overlapping picking up essences sound. It really made me upset when I was younger too. I'm not sure how hard programming this would be but having a limit or at least a way for the audio to peak less would be super appreciated.

- This is a personal thought, as i assume the change was intentional. The metal/essence detector sounds have changed, which i enjoy, since the original sounds were grating. HOWEVER, the last two pitches are the same as the original, which sounds incredibly out of place in terms with the other notes. The sudden change from the melodic and gentler beeps to the very loud older version can be a bit startling, even if you know its coming.

- there's a very strange audio glitch around the bridge in town that you cross to get to the green apple and apple garden. it strangely loops a specific part, and it makes it sound like something pops multiple times in a row.

GAMEPLAY

- this issue seems to happen during special events done in groups outside (building rocket, picnic, book club, etc) I personally experienced the bug during a rocket launch, while it happened during a picnic for my sister. For some reason, an NPC will stand in the center of the event, unable to move. See screenshots below for example of my experience.

If I recall correctly, my sister experienced this issue with Poppy during a picnic, she was standing on the basket in a similar state to Violet shown in the photos. Apparently Sir Vincent walked up to Poppy and was able to interact with her, and as a result he slapped her, and she promptly disappeared.

- as mentioned by some others, the fishing has some glitchyness to it, so about 25% of the time you hover your bobber over bubbles, it will not go down. this may actually be a texture misplacement issue, as I have caught fish above or to the right of the bubbles, but not actually in any part of the bubble themselves.

- I've noticed very minimal building issues, however, with Goth Boy specifically, building his home bugged out a lot. blocks would clip into others, the mosaic wide window has some serious placement issues, and becomes unusable since it will hang off of the walls. im not sure if this is an issue only on Goth Boy's building plot, but the spiked fences do not operate like the other fences. all other fences can overlap in order to create a perimeter around the building plot, however, the spiked fences cannot connect at the corners of the plot. other fences will overlap each other slightly, which looks a bit awkward, but still works super well. this overlapping to complete a fence is impossible with Goth Boy's spiked fence. I have not tested the blocks described on other character's building plots, so it could very well just be an issue with his house plot, I'm not sure.

- For some reason, my essence book unlocked every essence in the game around the time I got the crowbar or saw (i cant remember which.) As a completionist it made me really upset to be robbed of finding each essence and having it added to the book. From what I can tell, my game glitched, since this didn't seem to happen to my sister, and I have no idea how one would replicate the glitch.

- My sister had an issue where Sir Vincent disappeared entirely. She speculates this is because she evicted Violet while he was in her house, and for some reason he didn't exit the house properly, leading him to disappear. She claims reloading her save did not fix this, but relocating his home did.

VISUALS

- For some reason when you catch a fish, the water you are fishing in will speed up suddenly, and then slow down again. Definitely not a big issue, but something I noticed.

- The shadows for trees and other 3d objects are extremely pixelated and were clearly not upscaled, again not a big issue at all, but it is jarring to notice sometimes lol.

- some characters in the character book will be t-posing in their portrait, this has not happened to me, but has happened to multiple people on Reddit.

- Roof textures are slightly distorted somehow and look wrong, hard to explain but its a complaint ive seen on the reddit and one that my sister mentioned as well.

SUGGESTIONS

as a long time fan ive got a fair share of suggestions after now experiencing the MySims remake and original. ill start with the suggestions that I believe should 100% be added.

- more skin colors; its not hard to do, i can't imagine anyone claiming it'd be hard to do either. i know there's a lot of fans upset with this, especially since there were more options in the DS version.

- A lot of the people have been talking about awkward controls, and I agree to an extent. Personally the only issue I have that makes playing actually difficult for me is the fishing controls. Having to use the right joy-stick to aim the bobber while also having to press the A button to catch the fish means the player will be using their right thumb to do both, making for a VERY clunky fishing experience.

- I think the debug menu/cheats menu should stay open until manually closed. It was a hassle to input the code on the pause screen for each code I wanted to claim (but thank you so much for including them regardless.)

here are non necessary but would be appreciated by so many if added.

- creating your own blueprints would be an absolute lifesaver for intricate builders like me. having excess copies of builds in your inventory can make doing tasks for NPCs difficult, since you have no choice in what build of a specific item you will choose to edit (i.e. if you have three types of sinks, you cannot choose which one to edit)

- i'm sure button mapping can be difficult to set up, but I really do think EA's gold lined pockets can afford it. The addition of button mapping could save a lot of players, especially left handed and those with accessibility issues, a bunch of trouble.

- i think it'd be unfair for me to ask for more clothing options, as there are already so many, and theyre all very charming, but more default hair options, would be incredibly appreciated. if it isn't too much trouble, at least adding a bit more color variety, maybe even a color picker (if not for this game, then for a future one) would be super sick.

- another super unnecessary feature, but one I'd love to see is more in depth character descriptions for some characters, especially the special sims like Goth Boy who have extremely little written about them unlike Roxie Road or Ms. Nicole.

I believe that's all. Any other fans wanting to add their suggestions or comment bugs under this discussion post, please feel free to do so and thank you to the EA staff tasked with reading and communicating suggestions and bug reports to the dev team. It's a very important job and generally incredibly underappreciated.

(also i think Buddy should be programmed to trip even more)

thank you for your hard work and for the remake :)

    Heya!

I've closed this thread as your other thread here is showing up for me now.

Looks like it was possibly temporarily eaten by the spam filter.
