Not all essences available to paint with when decorating my own house

Question

I'm playing MySims (not Kingdom) on the Switch and am having trouble painting the interior of my home. I want to use the gingerbread essence which I have over 50 of in my backpack but it does not show up as an option to paint with when in paint mode. In fact, most of my Tasty essences aren't available to paint with. Just the first 2 or 3 show up when I go to paint my house even though I have at least one of every essence, including the garden essences.

I either haven't noticed or encountered this problem when painting other Sims' homes. Just mine.

I'm having the same problem and updating the game didn't help.

It is just my tasty essences that I can't access in paint mode though even though I have them when I check my backpack and even when I open up the essences to just place in my home but for some reason the game won't let me paint with those essences

I am having this issue, after about 35 hours of not having it. closing and restarting the game does not fix it once it shows up. For me, it affects both my house and other Sims' houses when painting walls and floors. My game build is ver. 1.2.635174f

Having the same issue. The only food essence I can paint with in houses is bacon. Works fine in my workshop
