Not all essences available to paint with when decorating my own house

I'm playing MySims (not Kingdom) on the Switch and am having trouble painting the interior of my home. I want to use the gingerbread essence which I have over 50 of in my backpack but it does not sho...

Having the same issue. The only food essence I can paint with in houses is bacon. Works fine in my workshop
