60 FPS workaround without speeding the game up.

So it seems that a modder at Guru3D found a workaround to the 30 fps cap.

Just add these commands to the game's shotcut directory or at Command Line Arguments (Game Properties):

-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60

Beware that for a smooth gameplay, you need to have solid 60 fps all the time, or else the game will speed down when your framerate decreases.

So you need to be sure you have a system above the recommended requirements.

EDIT:

After testing the game at 60 fps, I can tell you that it is very nice at this framerate but it only gives you a smooth gameplay at certain areas of the game.

There are situations where the game is clearly not well optimized, and because of that, this is not a solution. There are major FPS drops that just need to be fixed, and that keep this workaround to be a good alternative.

The game needs a patch to fix those fps drop issues.

And the developers need to provide us with "real" 60 fps without slowing/speeding the game.

no, even at rock solid 60fps there are some slight differences compared to 30 fps. if you played alot with 30 fps ( i played whole racer carrere that way) and than drive with 60 you will feel it.

I hope the devs will fix this, it should not be too hard since the basics allready work. i think some things might just still rely on 30 fps and thats making the small differences.

Dark souls was the same. if you unlocked 60 fps the game ran fine but there were tiny differences like the roll animation beeing 2-3 frames shorter etc.

Allright, I'll take your word for it. I finished the racer campaign too in 30fps and I couldn't really notice any difference. However I switched to cop career and havnen't driven those care before so that might be why I guess 🙂

The easiest way to see the small difference is the following: switch to 30 fps, select cop mode, equip emp and try it on a racer. Look at how long the whole lock on sequence takes. Now do the same with 60fps unlocked. While the drivinging still is the same, the emp lockon only takes half as long.

There are alot of small differences like this. I really wish this "fix" would not spread so much/fast. i am getting more and more cheaters and/or just some people who might not have a super powerfull pc but still try this fix and then they lag like crazy (because of not beeing able to keep the 60 fps steady) in mplayer. It really destroys the experience. Funny how they devs provide us with a game that has a build in speedhack, while other companies spend huge money to prevent this 😕mileytongue:

So you found the enitre argument line. 😕mileyvery-happy:

  • I'm sorry that I'm responding to an old topic, but I also have this problem. Bought the game recently on Steam Summer Sale.

By the way, I have a question. If I do this code, the game will crash in the zones with FPS drop? I don't want to risk.
