is anyone else having trouble with these races? i seem to have lost just as many as ive won and more often than not if you "just" win a race you gain less points than you lose if you "just" lose a race (i gained 14 points for a "just" win but lost 33 points for a "just" loss), the opponents seem to taking a far better racing line and the jumps are more like another obsticle to be avoided as you get thrown off at crazy angle and thrown into the wall if you dont hit it straight on

what i'd like to know is how can a 989 ccx without making any mistakes lose to a viper

OK, I'm really getting over BRR, probably 'cos I don't get it! I'm now 631 races in and it's just not making any sense to me. How does the game decide who I race against? (SP? PR? #Wins? #Losses? Someone's mood at the time?) How does the game calculate how many SP I win or lose? (E.g. (me) 4132 vs (ghost) 4109 LOST = -19SP..... (me) 4156 vs (ghost) 4179 LOST = -24SP) What skills are we to master to actually progress? (forget racing well, just get really good at avoiding ramps, obstacles, electronic stuns, traffic & roadblocks) What impact does PR have on racing performance? (We aren't shown what PR our opponent's car is on) What impact does SP level have on racing performance? (We'd all love to know the answer to this question) How does the game ensure all players are being 'tested' against the same criteria? (i.e consistency, fairness... the kinda things important in a competition) What's the benefit (reward) for reaching the various levels up to Icon? (uuuh, why exactly are we doing this again?) These and many more questions cannot be answered with any reasonable degree of certainty. We're left scratching our heads and debating over players' opinions. Why? What's the point of BRR then? Why are the rules of engagement not made clear up front by EA? Why all the mystery and deafening silence from the people who could actually answer these questions? Five days ago, I managed to reach 4,245 SP... and within two days I lost my Level III rank (to level II) and dropped right down to 3,725 SP... I estimate that I lost 18 of 20 races, mostly due to bizarre acts of car madness, like shaving a car on the left side of the road, and mysteriously 'spawning' on the other side of the road facing the stars. Yes, I make mistakes in races or could have raced better, but no more than previously (in fact I know I've reduced mistakes and improved technique), yet suddenly I'm being smoked by cars with 200SP less than me. What changed? I didn't have a stroke, or grow tentacles for thumbs, and I didn't change my gaming technique, but the game suddenly had it 'in for me'... it's like someone tied a tractor to my bumper and removed the steering wheel! Bottom line... BRR doesn't make any sense to me. If I'm the only one who feels this way , then I should probably have my MENSA status revoked and book myself in for a brain scan.

I may have lost a few races, but I won most of my races. In fact, the races in Blackridge Rivals are so intense that my heart beats rapidly whenever I do a race there and hoping the game doesn't mess me up. (With cop roadblocks and traffic) I really like Blackridge Rivals. It brought me so much fun that I hadn't had with the game after so many months. I really want Multiplayer racing in No Limits though. This isn't Multiplayer racing, but it's the closest we got so far. The amount of points you gain or lose depends on your opponents SP (Speed Points). The higher the SP, the more SP you win (less SP you lose). The lower the SP, the less SP you win (more SP you lose). It all depends whether the game gives you a higher SP opponent or lower SP opponent. Oh, and I wouldn't mind if opponents are ghosts in Blackridge Rivals since I'm not really racing them live. However, I do want car contact in actual Multiplayer racing in No Limits (if it ever happens) to add more of a challenge to pass opponents cleanly or to send opponents flying if they're being trolls. To vipucho, do you really ram real people in Multiplayer races? If so, then prepare to go to heaven if you ever do race me. By the way, you guys should check out the Top 200 leaderboard in Blackridge Rivals. You'll see a familiar name in there. 👿

i can understand the "ghost" races, as those races are in escence a time trial type race and the "ghost" image is to show what/how your opponent raced, ive got issues with the fact that i dont seem to progressing

Well, I take back what I said about Blackridge Rivals. It totally sucks. I have two reasons why it sucks: 1. Match-making is broken. - People get match-maked with an opponent with a much lower SP than them, meaning they gain so little SP if they win and they lose so much SP if they lose. Absolutely ridiculous. (The least amount of points I won was 3 points and the biggest amount of points I lost was 55 points.) 2. The game penalizes people if the game crashes on them. How Blackridge Rivals could be better: 1. People get match-maked with opponents that have almost as much SP as them to make things even. 2. The game should allow people to choose who they want to race with. For example, the game picks a set of opponents at random and people can have the option to choose who they want to race with. 3. The game distinguishes between a game crash and a retire for incomplete races. 4. Different Blackridge Rivals classes - Street class, Classic Sports class, Muscle class, Sports class, Super car class, and Hyper car class. People can mostly drive what they want in each class instead of being restricted to drive only the fastest cars in the game. (But people may still need to drive the fastest cars in each class though) I said earlier that I would like Multiplayer races in No Limits. Now, I take that back too. After playing Blackridge Rivals races a lot, I would say Multiplayer races in No Limits would just be a mess. Everyone would just be driving the fastest cars (for each class) to win the race, meaning people can't drive their favourite cars and win the race. The races are so short that people driving their favourite cars can hardly catch up to someone in the fastest car if they made a mistake. It would probably be too late to overtake them. The game is better off being as a online Single Player game in my opinion. Dear EA,

By far, without a doubt, Blackridge Rival is the WORST update ever. I would rather prefer races with VP's as rewards than to a race some cheats. And I dont know if anybody noticed, when you click "pre season" under blackridge rivals, it says "recorded races". Hold on, what does "recorded races" mean here?

If you want to ram, then ram the AIs. That's what I do whenever I feel like ramming (and to get $500 for each takedown).

^^That's right, so therefore EA promotes the ramming as part of competition gameplay! But ill remember not to ram you as you sound so godlike in a car....🤔

@vipucho Recorded races are races you do in Blackridge Rivals (only if you finish the race) and your car becomes a ghost for someone if the game match-makes them with you.

For example, Person A did a race with Person B's ghost.

Person A finished first place.

Person A's car and driving are recorded to be used as an ghost opponent.

Person C then gets match-maked with Person A's ghost.

Person C finished second place.

Person C's car and driving are recorded to be used as an ghost opponent.

Off-Topic: I won a second race against a cheater with infinite nitrous.

This cheater drove a Koenigsegg CCX, so normally I would lose.

However, the race I did had Nitro Zones to replenish Nitrous if driven over. So I kept driving over those Nitro Zones and kept my speed so high that the cheater was unable to catch up.

It feels awesome to beat cheaters while playing the game how it's supposed to be played.

I hate them. Only reason I do them is because I want gold. I can't stand....
I get hit with lightening bolts to slow me down but I can't hit them back it only happens when I'm in lead very irritating
I can't choose my opponent.. understandable but I want to be able to at least know it in advance to say no to it so I don't have to lose points when I am a 825 and they are a 949.. at least make it reasonable.. or maybe only let us race with our exact match for pr.. that would be fair and it would be strictly the racer against racer not just the type of car against type of car..
I don't know what this preseason thing is I read it yes but I am over level 60 I'm level 91 and I don't know if it started if I'm in it or how to win...
speed points I know what they are but what is the real point of them just for rank? I want to actually win something beneficial to the rest of the game besides cash for losing an unfair race
And what's with this ghost thing... like I understand it's not that fair when you block someone on purpose from passing you or when you ram them but to be honest it makes it feel like it's more of a race me against another person. It's not fair if a car can pass right through you to win. They should have to go around me. Just like running a marathon pass through me nope around me..

And second problem.. why did they create race skips. If I only have so much gas and I want to use that on races I can actually make more cash off of instead of on another race. I have a * ton of them and I won't use them because I need cash and yes I would rather skip a race I don't want to use the fuel. I wish I could trade in race skips and visual points they are useless to me. I have like 2 million visual points and I haven already bought just about everything in the shop.
I love this game just want more cash and gold

Well, I guess making p2p races is next to impossible, since the reactions needed are in fractions of seconds, and there is no way to transfer data across mobile platforms that fast around the globe. Thus we race against pre-recorded races of other players. And if you tackle your opponent or interfere in any way, what should the game do? So they are ghosts.

Well, I feel it the other way - let the race skip be optional, that is, do not limit number of race skips available. If you have time, want practice or more cash, just race. If you are in a hurry, do not want to waste your fuel, but cannot afford to race, just use skips, whats the matter? Since level 80 or so the repetition was so boring that I raced most of my races on easydrive anyway. And raceskip is just a tiny bit worse cash-wise, but a lot better time-wise.

Has someone tried to close game while loading the race? Would that count as a lose?

@koah7341 You were supposed to dodge the incoming ESFs (Electro Static Field) to avoid losing speed.

If you dodge the ESFs successfully, then you would be awarded some In-Game Cash and a bit of Nitrous.

It's mentioned in the Blackridge Rivals tutorial that there are rewards for participating in Blackridge Rivals.

The rewards could possibly be better with more SP. You never know until you find out at the end of Preseason. 😉

Off-Topic: As you all probably know by now, I'm #1 on the Top 200 leaderboard in Blackridge Rivals.

A couple of days ago, it seemed the players that were above me were all cheaters...

@TheRealJony Now, that is SOME lead you have here, grats. I'd be scared to race more, as you can easily lose a day worth of racing on a single mistake, while gains are very small.

On your way to be the first Icon, right?

BTW, why is that you keep whitening out the Lover part of your nickname, when we all can see it in the game anyway? ;-)

I had made mistakes a few times and those obviously costed me the race and deducted 55 points off.

I never thought it was possible, but it is...

Winning against real opponent ghosts doesn't award me points anymore. At the same time, there's no one out there that has a higher SP score than me so I'm bound to earn very little points if I'm lucky.

The only way I could earn SP now is if the game gives me an AI ghost to race with. The AI ghosts have extremely high SP score, so the rewards for winning are high.

I normally want my name to just be "Jony", but it was already taken.

I also want to be known as "Jony" as well. That's why I keep removing part of my In-Game name.

The reason why I added "TheGirlLover" to my In-Game name is self-explanatory.

Well, I have done it.

I'm #1 on the Top 200 leaderboard in Blackridge Rivals and I'm also the first Icon too!

From the "How to Play" in Blackridge Rivals:

"Rank up! - The best racers will reach the rank of ICON. Can you hang with elite players and become an ICON?"

Well, I'm the best racer and elite player in Blackridge City!!!

To be honest though, I wouldn't rely on SPs to determine who are the best racers and elite players.

As long as you're able to win races in Campaign and win special event races without spending Gold to skip races, then you're all best racers and elite players in my book. 🙂
