Frame Rate Drops in NFS Most Wanted PC

I'm wondering if this is normal... my frame rate drops to the low 20s sometimes evecn 15 in certain scenes but usually stays around 25-35 and in some areas goes up to 60fps

i found that setting vsyncintervles in the config to one fixed the fps stuttering. hopefully i didn't break anything in the game.
Just amazes me how I get better framerates on Witcher 2 than I do on this.
I started the game today, and it updated! 🙂 Even though I do not see any offical release notes from EA on this forum, something they did do on the first patch. Anyhow, I also updated my AMD Catalyst driver to 13.1 . And in seems to run okay now, still occasionally drops to 24 FPS when there is a lot of dust of the upcoming cars. But overall it is now far better playable. So EA / Criterion / Origin thanks for the update!!!
If someone has any additional advice on tweaking my ATI / AMD Radeon HD4850 to better performance for this game, you're most welcome to suggest turning on / off certain features for the video card. I am now running on the absolute lowest graphics setting for the game, in a resolution of 1920x1080. Since I did test this before: resolution settings have no influence on the performance on my PC, CPU is a Quad Core Intel Q6700, running at 2,7GhZ.
