Improve Customization, Cops, and Map Size
Hi Need For Speed, I wanted to share some suggestions for making the new "Need For Speed" much better. I have played some of the previous Need For Speed games and loved most of them at their time. My favorites are Need For Speed Underground 2, Need For Speed Most Wanted (Old one with BMW M3 GTR), Need For Speed Carbon, and Need For Speed Undercover. I'll be mostly basing my ideas from these games because I feel like each of these games all share of a piece of what is missing in the new Need For Speed. Don't get me wrong I do like the the new Need For Speed but I feel like it kind of let me down a bit because of the hype it was getting. Now I know that you guys have already stated that you will giving out Download Contents/Patches to improve the game which is good but I just want to give you my opinions on what I think should be added. I'll start with the customization, there are two problems I noticed in customization that I think needs improvement. First I'll talk about the Body Customization, when I finally got my Nissan Skyline R34 into the garage for body customization I was so stoked about customizing it until I realized...there lacked many options around the car. There wasnt enough body customization for a lot of cars and also the restrictions also limited what you could do. I wanted to choose between maybe 10 front and back bumpers, side skirts, hoods, mirrors, spoilers. For headlights and taillights I wanted to see maybe 3-5 options there because for example, I've seen headlights on the Skyline R34 with black headlights and taillights so I didnt understand why there wasnt a part available for that. Also sorry if I'm basing the Skyline only I'm just using it as an example...plus its my favorite. Anyways why isnt there any roof scoops, they add quite a unique look on cars too. In my opinion...Need For Speed Underground 2 had the best body customization because that game had more options and no restrictions. If you could take a look back at that game and add those parts back it would bring more creative and distinctive looks on our cars. Also in Need For Speed Carbon...you had an option to alter the sizes such as the grill or the bumpers height, spoilers height and width and much more in that game...that would be cool to bring back as well too. That function combined with Need For Speed Underground 2 would bring top notch customization I believe. Now I know that your parts seem to be based off of true body parts...but why not add your own ones with real life ones. I know that would be a difficult task to do because of the shapes of some of the cars, but I think it can be done! My second concern with customization is the vinyls/decals...I noticed with some vinyls that can be colored but have a secondary color in that vinyl can't be colored. For example, the ones that have white and black designs...you can color the white design but you can't change the black design...this really confused me because in Need For Speed Carbon and/or Need For Speed Undercover...you could color freely. There was an option to paint the secondary color which was cool because this gives you more creative ideas to add to your car. Another example is the dragon vinyl, you can color the white palette but the outline which is red can't change. This is another bad limitation that should be looked at...go back and see which vinyls could be colored in depth and bring that to the new one...I can guarantee that by doing that...this will bring smiles to peoples faces! Ok so that's all my issues with Customization...just refer back to Need For Speed Underground 2 and Carbon and customization will limitless. My next concern is with...the cops, now I'm not sure if it's just me but I just didn't feel the thrill of the cop chases like I did in previous Need For Speed games. I personally felt like it was too easy, even when I raised my heat level I still didn't feel like it was challenging enough. The perfect game I believe had the best cop system was Need For Speed Most Wanted, makes sense considering its title but in my opinion the cop system in that game was epic. We had maybe 5 cop cars after you...roadblocks with cop cars blocking the road and also being able to knock out cops too, how about the SUV's coming from the other side trying to hit you or having them as roadblocks. Helicopters over you telling the cops where you are at or the chief police with his crew of fast cars hassling you to surrender. That game has alot of thrill compared to what this games cop system is, the only thing I like is that you can get your tires busted from road spike strips and I do kinda like the wall roadblock but that can be easily escaped by making a turn to the next street. If that wall roadblock was placed maybe on the center of the street then you would be forced to make a 180 degree turn and go back to the cops. These are things I think will improve the cop chases, as of now its not really thrilling. Also I want to note that if you didn't get busted maybe 2 or 3 times...have the cops have you listed so that when you start another cop chase you don't start at heat level 1 but heat level 3. This is all the stuff you've done before so just consider putting that cop system in the game, by doing so...Outlaw will have a purpose! My next rant will be about the driving experience, it's not too bad but it could be better. The map for example isn't too big in my opinion, its quite small to me compared to Need For Speed Undercover's Map which had more. The reason why this is important is so that you can add more races for us to do and just more time to venture around Ventura Bay. Now I have noticed that there is some areas on the map that you have maybe purposely left blank to use later on which is clever but I hope you consider growing the map a bit more. I also feel like having a daytime would be good too, nights are cool and all but it gets old after a while. I want to see the sky change by time...not by what area your in. Also you should make it rain less too, I know you wanted to show the graphics but its not really needed. Some people want their cars dry. Try altering when it rains and altering the sky so that we can get a more realistic feel. Here's a small idea, if its daytime maybe add more traffic which keeping traffic less when night comes. Just by doing this, the driving experience will improve greatly! Lastly I'll just add in some smaller add ones that I think should be added, you may have heard of them already but here they come again. First add on is more cars, there are some great cars that are missing in your game, I won't list them but I'll just say to refer back to all your previous Need For Speed games. More importantly, try to balance the types of cars too because right now I noticed that muscle cars are lacking in this game and also some exotics too. Also try finding some more classics to add as well. Next thing you should add is manual transmission, personally I prefer automatic but I do believe as a racing game you should have the option to choose so please consider that. Next thing you should add is Drag racing, its been out for awhile and I think this game would be perfect for its revival. Lastly for now, add in a repair station or something because I hate seeing my cars all destroyed up. I hate having to go back to the garage to get it fix and I know I'm not the only one who hates driving in a car that is your favorite and you spent so much time detailing it to show to the world and out of the blue you accidentally total your car and now it looks like rubbish. Please consider that if you don't consider any of these atleast. I hope my message will bring some ideas to you Need For Speed and I'll continue to roam the streets with whatever decision you make. Thank for hearing me out and I look forward to whats in store! :D
