Losing money when getting busted is not a « fun » mechanic.

I found myself really stressed, « gambling » my RP and see if I want to do one last race, or one last heat level before calling it a day. Honestly, it is exciting, wonderful job you did on that conce...

At first, I thought the same, Heat 3 was insane in my sub 200 rated 180SX and thought the game was broken but it isn't, you just need to take it easy at first.

For starters, once you get a car 250+ on performance, Heat Level 3 is fine and even 4 and 5 is escapable.

I've run a Heat 5 chase in a 282 performance Nissan GTR, yes it was a challenge but I escaped and it was hella fun! Same thrills and heartpounding moments I got from Most Wanted <3

Perhaps they could lower the money taken when busted but in previous games they could impound your vehicle and all manner of things, so I don't think it's that big of an issue.

Besides, later on you can easily get $40k from a single race at levels 20+.

You just have to make sure, you do all the upgrades you need and spend your money before you go out at night in case you get caught.

But all in all I love the risk mechanics, makes you really think about avoiding the police when you don't wanna risk it and makes night racing so amazing.

@Deliquescator You bring great points. Maybe since the racing style is a little « scripted », maybe once your car is 250+ is programmatically becomes easier. I’d wish it was more natural but this is a good point and I’ll for sure give it a shot and compare when I am 250+. Still think the % of money of bank is a bit of a useless frustration and more of a slap in the face rather than a « price to pay », but you bring great points.
The game is a tremendous upgrade over the last titles, we have to see that, it is really fun, not perfect but a great title. Let’s always keep positive with the work that ghost Did because even if not flawless, they still brought back a ton of things the fans were looking for, sounds, customization, night illegal scene. Yes the handling isn’t what it was and the police is mega interesting but a little bit scripted, but still, a giant steer in the right direction if you ask me.

I think a few updates on some of the mechanics (and I wish on the handling but I doubt it’ll happen), and we’d have something really solid.

  Isn’t it only a 10k fine when you get busted and a loss of the multiplier xp so you keep the base rep of what you earned?
  You can do a three minute race and make 50k in this game just do a bunch of races until youve got a bit of cash behind you.
  Or just do all your rep races while youre broke and you wont have anything for cops to take so youve got less to risk and you can keep going for higher rep scores.
  I try not to return to my garage until I’m heat level five with over a million rep. I’ve managed to bring in 2.5mil in one night before.

Great commentary back a few pages ago.
Your right as we leveled up the payout in the race did improve very much so.
I like cop chases but you gotta admit the first few levels were a bummer when the cops nailed us in lower-end cars.
Obviously, once we got up to level 4 some say 5 things started to improve for cop chases.
