Need for Speed 2015 PC crash after startup

Hi there,

Months ago, I bought this game, installed the dvd's and played the game several times. Last december, I tried to start up the game after some weeks rest,

and it did'nt start up anymore. After startup, the NVIDIA screes appears and the game crashes. With the general errorcode , that this application doe'sn't work anymore, that

a solution isn't available, etc.

After that, I have contacted EA Help 2 times. I have searched the internet for all possible solutions. and execusted them.  Sop, after all tips and tricks: nothing helped.

Strange enough, after a installion of a new SSD, the game did work 2 times in a handicapped way, but als that was only a short revival.   I even installed a new medium range

video card, a MSI Geforce 1050ti 4 GB Gaming......with no result.   This is all so disappoiting!   My other games, GTA, FIFA. Mass eeffecten all do work properly.

Wat could a men do more?    This game is really a disaster in a technical way spoken.

Any suggestions left, besides accepting this loss?

    Hi there, handkerchief,

I've checked your dxdiag and I can see that the game is crashing with the following error code: MSVCR100.DLL.

How you can resolve issues with this error code is detailed in the following thread:

    http://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin/MSVCP100-dll-missing-in-windows-10/m-p/5709908#M232359

Could you please try the steps I've listed there? I would also recommend to double-check that your Windows installation is completely updated, as an outdated Windows installation can also be the cause of frequent errors.

Thanks for the help! As you mentioned, a disc intallation shouldn't go out of date either, as it will receive the same updates as a digital version.

The only difference would be that you would need the disc to play.

    High Tom,

Thanks for your suggestion. All my Microsoft Visual C++ programms were repaired, where this option was available. It could also be done directly from the windows application 'Programms and parts'.  Nevertheless, your suggestion did not have any effect.  The dll flie is not missing. There a tens of this specific MSVCR100.dll file stored in the deeper layers of windows for all kind of programms. Unclear to me is,  where in the NFS16 programm the MSVCR100.dll file should be stored, for NFS16.exe to find it.  Strange thing is, that in another Origin game (Mass Effect2), i can find this .dll in Programm files (x86)/Origin games/Mass Effecten/Core. But NOT anywhere in the Need for Speed directory....

One way or the other....after something like 20 hours from my side in repairing, updating, upgrading to a new video card and following a hole bunch of suggestions from EA (Helpdesk)....my son of 14 years old got stuck with a fully handicapped game...and a disappointed father while not succeeding in helping him.    Since such a lot problems were reported for these kind of computer games, my simple conclusion is that a regular Windows PC is not a very suitable platform to play games on. Too much could go wrong due to all kind of issues, probably caused by updates or non professional attempts from average users.  I am awaiting a last attempt through a professional EA helpdesk department, as suggested after various chat sessions with the EA Helpdesk.

    Kind regards,

    Mario

    Hi Mario,

Thanks for your detailed reply. And I'm really sorry to hear that you still haven't got the game working yet.

Since you're still in contact with the EA Helpdesk, I hope that they will be able to figure this out for you.
