Need For Speed Heat - limited controller support

Why don't the recent PC | Windows 10 based need for speed games include support for generic Windows 10 HID (human interface device) controllers? These use the generic DirectX interface, such as X axis (usually steer), Y axis (throttle + optional brake), and Z axis (usually brake), or up to 6 axis for flight simulators, plus buttons 1 through 16.

I wasted over an hour trying to get Need For Speed Heat to work with a controller that emulates a Logitech G27 wheel and pedals, which is working fine for older games like Shift 2 Unleashed, Undercover, and even World before servers were shut down.

Then after giving up on that, the game started locking up with a black screen from the main menu when I tried to quit game. At least I'm getting a refund since it was less than 2 hours between downloading and finding the game just wasn't going to work with my controller, and then started crashing.

  • I had the same problem and not only NFS Heat or any games on Origin (EA) but other games on other platforms too.

BTW The problem was solved by using the STEAM controller to fix it. (even it shouldn't be this way but why not right?)

Simply add the launcher should be somewhere like this:
    "G:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\Origin.exe"
    "G:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Engine\Binaries\Win64\EpicGamesLauncher.exe"
(my cases are Epic and Origin) to your STEAM library and run it before the games you wanna play.

I attached a picture so you can see where you can add it.
Sorry about my bad EnGlitch but I hope you can understand and my info could help you with the controller's issues.

( I was looking for "how to change the Horn button on the left stick XD )
