MSI N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC SLI NOT WORK!!!! Nvidia please fix it~~~
I too am experiencing these issues as well. My questions are:
1. Why wasn't Need for Speed Most Wanted 2012 optimized for use with SLi or optimized for PC use for that matter?
2. Other EA titles are SLi approved at launch but what happened here?
3. Are EA or Nvidia looking into adding SLi or Crossfire support?
One thing I would like to point out and I'm not trying to bash but It's a thought that just crossed my mind. Why is it that when you play a Nintendo game they seem so polished and glitches seem to be nonexistent for what the console is capable of? Now my question is referring to 1st party games. The reason is, Nintendo doesn't give a deadline for when a game needs to be done until they are absolutely sure they can release a finalized game without having to patch it day one to fix bugs that may have been missed. To this day I've noticed that with Nintendo. It's not the same now since the Wii U but hopefully they don't follow that trend.
Now with 3rd party games a lot of the time the marketing department analyze the trend in sales and what competitors games are releasing when which is then based on quarterly sales, which a lot of companies do. The company then tells the development team that they need this game done in, lets just say 8 quarters in time for the holidays that way it can compete with the next big thing. That's 2 years to work on a game that can't deviate from it's deadline. So you've got a new game coming out with a new engine so you build from the ground up, FAST FORWARD... Your coming down to the wire, you've got 1 month before you have to send the game in to be certified for "gold" status. It's crunch time, your team biting at the bit, hasn't finished the Hi-def textures, memory mapping(e.g. Skyrim) and your teams is still finalizing some of the NPC scripts and animations to move more naturally. Your team has to drop everything and your art department, script writers, programmers just to name a few have to try and add the final touches to what is already an unfinished project. Your testers are working vigorously to try and find and submit all bugs before the games has to ship to be certified.
That time has now come and your game is off to be certified. Now it's time to sit back and relax... I don't think so. Everyone is now working against the clock to try and fix anything and everything that might have made the game unstable to play or look sloppy that way when day one comes it will have to be patched to play, and you and me know that some of these patches can make a game or break a game and consoles. And so the cycle continues, patch after patch. Oh and the one thing that still bugs me to this day. The data that is encoded to these games but can't be unlocked unless you purchase what they call DLC just to be sent a 128k file that unlocks it when obviously the data is on the disc in your possession that you purchased...weird, no? I can't remember the last time I had this trouble with a 1st party Nintendo game.
Sorry to rant and rave. Also don't think I'm particular to one console/pc because I'm not. I've owned all consoles and handhelds to date except for anything before 1986 like Atari. I don't mean any harm by this but gosh I've been holding this back for a while now. I personally just wish that some of these companies wouldn't be so strict on their time frames. Let their developers have as much time needed to get stuff done and polish it, we'd probably see more "Triple A" titles and less - nonexistent stability issues and more money in their pockets. Also they would be able to produce uber-excellent games rather then having to shut down developers because the company they work for didn't give them adequate time to work on the game and make it what it should have been. IMO I'd rather see an extremely finished game and wait a few months rather then play something that was rushed.
Only in a perfect world I guess. Well sorry for boring anyone with my two cents on underdeveloped games and for some people I hope you found this to be entertaining. Just remember that their is no such thing as a bad game just bad players. All games are created by peoples ideas of their worlds and dreams and to make it so we can see, play, and enjoy what they are imagining, it's an amazing thing. It's like having Leonardo da Vinci painting in front of you on a pain of glass and your sitting behind it as it changes in real time. Would Leonardo da Vinci hand you a painting that was only 3/4 done and say he's finished? I'll leave you guys with this. The game may appeal to the masses,a group, or just a couple of people but someone will enjoy the game created whatever it may be.
Thanks for reading and letting me let loose my diarrhea of the brain.

How funny it is...Thanks God I don't have an SLI system, coz I would tottaly lose my mind in this situation :/

Well I'm on an ATI and my dual GPU is going at 36/73% on medium settings with no HD... with HD textures it's split between 60/60% or 46/46%. Was thinking of adding another card to test if it can do 2 or 3 way crossfire.
I installed the last patch from Origin today.
According to me, there is no framerate improvement nor SLI support.
Maybe it was only for the DLC.

Hello oxymesis
Thanks for your message.
Here is the note: fixed performance degradation when running under SLI and Crossfire configurations
I will keep collecting your feedback on this. Any additional comment or data on performances since the update will be helpful.

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Intel Core i7 2600K @ 4.2GHz
16,0 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz
MSI P67A-GD55 (MS-7681)
1535MB GeForce GTX 580 (EVGA)
1535MB GeForce GTX 580 (EVGA)
Game actually manages to run worse then before the patch with SLI enabled.
Are we talking about the same update here? That became available 12/18/2012? Because if so.. I saw NO IMPROVEMENT in performance whatsoever with this patch... NONE.
I run 3 GTX 680's in SLI.. and only 1st card is utilized.. and poorly at that... all my graphics settings in the game have to be set to "MEDIUM" - otherwise I get super low framerates and lag.
Again, is this a separate patch? or the one that came out yesterday, December 18th, along with the DLC?
I'm very disappointed.. because otherwise.. this is a very fun game. Please fix this.
