Thank you for the posts, it sounds like an issue with calibration, the game not detecting the maximum trigger pull as maximum throttle. As the workaround shows, the game is picking up a binary input.
There are a fair few games where you can play without detecting an issue as they don't require a full trigger pull, but Heat seemingly does.
@KILLAZDUDE101 You mention trying a 2nd pad, can you try a system restart from the power menu before trying it again? - @EA_David Changing controller does not work I have tried all 4 that I own,
I have also reinstalled the game and also deleted and restarted saved game data. issue still occurs. - @EA_David I also tried out 3 different controllers and it doesnt matter. Please fix it, the game is almost unplayable with this issue. Theres no way to get REP because you always get busted when the car doesnt want to accelerate.
Same problem here. Just an opinion but if so many people have this problem I don't think it's an issue with the gamepad
- @EA_David Can you please fix it ASAP? Its almost unplayable and really frustrating... :/
If you're using a PS4 controller on PC (I'm having the same issue) and you're using DS4 windows.
If you start the game with DS4W running, that's when I'm getting the issue, hit "Stop" on DS4W then "Start" and it worked for me.
If the above doesn't apply to you, then apologies.
How do I change the control settings to accelerate with R1?
- PlayStation dashboard, select settings, select ‘accessibility’, scroll down to ‘button assignments’, now change the R1 button to another button type, example ‘R1’ - ‘X’ / ‘X’ - ‘R1’ This is a temporary fix. Warning! Now your usual ‘X’ button will be the ‘R1’ button 😉
I have had the same Problem with my Xbox elite controller, until I noticed, that the buttons were mechanicaly restricted to 50 % on the backside :D But i wonder if this is possible with a Ps4 controller? It would be nice too to be able to tune that in game as well.
Cheers
- I’m still having acceleration issues with any car I use. Especially the pre-ordered cars, the Lancers can’t even get past the 2nd gear. It’s so frustrating trying to outrun cops or even win races. The game seems really unplayable but yet, the game visually is gorgeous, I haven’t been this excited for a racing game since Need For Speed: Underground. But if I can’t even play this game I felt like I’ve just wasted money. I’ve already tried all the things everyone says on here, changed controllers, deleted the game and re-installed it, I also wanted to change the controller layout but under “accessibility” there is no area to change the layout. Unless I’m looking in a different area. I hope there is a fix with the acceleration because I want to love this game like how everyone else does whenever I watch YouTube but I can’t if this problem continues.
The controller is all about that i was using one of my dualshock and i had this problem when i switch my controler it work perfectly
The accessibility layout is in the playstation general settings > accessibility >
I did it and it works this is how i play the game
I bought the standard edition last week and I'm having the same issue as everyone else. I can't get past the 2nd gear with my 2nd car that's in garage unless I change the buttons. I hate having to go back and forth with this when I want to play other games. I hope a fix for this is on it's way.
Hey EA how about a real fix to this problem? it's not supposed to be fixed by cheating the PS4 controller accesibility setup.
