Re: Can't take screenshots to save for myself (PC Windows 10)

@Delxysic

I am not sure what you mean with getting a black rectangle? I cannot ask for a screenshot either, for obvious reasons.. ☹️

Several things you could try:

  • Right-click Need for Speed in Origin and select Repair Game
  • Bind the Take Snapshot button to another key

Could you let me know if that got it working for you?

Hi there, sorry for the late reply, had to go out of town for a few days.

I tried repairing the game but it didn't work and even now when I connect the laptop to a TV via an HDMI, either the game crashes/PC freezes or nothing is visible on the TV.

Can someone somehow resolve this issue, and is there anyone with the same issue?

By a black rectangle I mean a literal black rectangle when i press the screenshot key and pasted the image in paint. Tried a third party screenshot utility and binded another key for screenshot, but nothing worked.

    Any solution?

EDIT: I tried using a different HDMI cable but it still didn't work. And my laptop port isn't faulty as i can view other programs on the TV.

Yes I play in High performance mode while charging, so there is no dearth of power to the GPU, and I know and checked again that I play on my dedicated GPU and not the Intel integrated one.

I've attached the Can You Run it, Screenshot. Although it says my GPU is under powered, I can run the game comfortably at high settings. Cheers to the devs for optimizing that. But still no screenshot ability.

As a last avail: is it possible that you might have to press the Fn (Function) key, or similar, to be able to use the PrtScn button? I know that laptops have smaller keyboards so sometimes you have to press something extra in order to get a button to work.

You could perhaps try with the on-screen keyboard if you haven't done so yet.

Nope I have a full size keyboard, don't have to use the Fn key for a screenshot. Man this is really frustrating ☹️

Do let me know if you find something on this.

You are the first player that I've come across with this issue which usually means that the cause is something very obscure and hard to find. However, I definitely will keep an eye out for you.

If you come across the solution yourself then do please share it in this thread as I am very curious about the cause..
