Thank you, I appreciate your input. Now, I'm sure you're aware that NFSR cannot run at a constant 60fps no matter how powerful your PC might be, right? The fact of the matter is that frame rates will always drop considerably at certain spots in the map because, quite simpy, NFRS was never intended to render more than 30fps. Therefore, the "60fps fix" doesn't really fix anything, but instead increases the gap between minimum and average frame rates.
@In any case, we are entirely dependant on the developers to produce a "proper 60fps fix." Until then, I recommend using the above commands, but replace the "60" with whatever your minimum frame rates may be. That is, if your PC is capable of a minimum that is above 30fps. With my 3960X @ 4.5Ghz and 780ti @ 1162Mhz, I have both commands set to 42.
This fix does not work for everyone because not everyone runs 8 core I7s and GTX 780s or R9 290Xs and me running a very cheap but decent gaming PC can't use this. So some of us have to wait for the official patch unless someone have other suggestions. And the upcoming DLC was a hope that a patch to fix some of the basic issues would follow with the new cars. Sadly i'm left disappointed. Again.
I have a Core i7 2600K OC'd to 4.4GHz, and a GTX 690. And with that stupid shortcut/Origin command thing, I almost never get 60FPS. I talked to an EA person in live chat a few weeks ago, and he said that a patch to unlock the framerate (or at least allow it to be at 60) is currently in development. I know that the same thing happened with The Run 2 years ago (and I don't know how long it took for the problem to be solved), but that's really no excuse. This should have been among the first things they patched.
I did a check on that and if The Run had launched next to Rivals it would have been fixed by now.
Doesn't matter how powerful PC you have really. This is a performance video I made prior to the patch to be able to make a comparison video after the patch. It's unlocked at 99fps.
i5 2500k @ 4,4Ghz
8GB DDR3 @ 1600Mhz
EVGA GTX 780 Classified 1280Mhz on the core and 6804Mhz on the memory
Game running from a Samsung EVO 840 120GB SSD, OS on another SSD.

That's a great video showing just how poorly optimized NFSR really is; and honestly, I don't know if they can fix it without completely rewriting huge chunks the code. So, the question is... would EA fund a major patch like that? I'd like to think so, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a fix.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zw6I6d87Gm4It works fine in maybe 95% of the map, but it's where it doesn't that hurts the experience. Everyone, and I mean everyone experiences drops in Lagoon Trail for example. :-)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zw6I6d87Gm4Yeah, it's quite steady when you're in the good zones. The last video you cut out just where you hit one of the drop zones, 5fps down wouldn't be a problem in any game but in this one it makes it broken. Make the same recording passing by the police station down by the coast...

Where can i find the patch notes? It has to be more than just a content update, since it seems that at least the black screen bug got fixed.
Besides performance problems, there are still bugs like not recording jumps under certain circumstances etc. What kind of "patch" is this?
Ohhhh EA.... say your going to do ONE FREE CAR then erase the info like it never existed....
cant even see them ingame! (ps3) what a load of *ss
I'm not sure if they changed it but under all the years I owned a PS3, the PS Store only updates once a week, tuesdays in North America and Thursdays in EU. I remember having to wait the annoying two days extra for the first DLC to Hot Pursuit.
Euro psn has updated just no rivals dlc at all not even on the "heads up"

Really odd then... I sent out a tweet to psstoreeu, hopefully they'll reply and shed some light.
Thanks 🙂 hope we still get the free Koen.... :O
