Re: Steam version isn't visible on EA app while it was on Origin app

@lunight13 To confirm currently Steam and EGS do not integrate with the EA App, so if you purchased a game or dlc from either client they will not appear in the newer client.

  • And when will they Intergrate? As I have all my NFS games through steam and it keeps asking from to to download origin app while I hav EA app already installed. Now I can't play any of my NFS or star wars games that I have through Steam unless I install Origin again if thats even possible.

It's still possible! i downloaded it after posting it here. But i must warn, it's not possible from the official site

  • How on earth can you release an app that does not integrate with the largest platform that distributes your games? You've effectively locked people out of their games that they have rightly purchased. This is absurd and unacceptable to say the least considering that you have had the EA app in its beta for several years. You're practically releasing an unfinished product. At the very least, keep Origin up and running until you have resolved the integration issue with the EA App. On top of that, you give no clear indication as to when the issue will be resolved. FFS, at least remove the Origin requirement to run these games. It's quite a stupid requirement in the first place.

@rhapsodyvit's typical EA bs, update of Origin broke my NFS Heat and the game won't launch now. I've read countless guides and the same result, can't launch the NFSH.

EA App is worse than Origin and Origin was bad, to begin with. I hate when you get a game on Steam then you get enforced to mess about with some other 3rd party launchers that never work properly. ugh.

How is this answer a solution to a problem many players are facing?
kindly figure out a way to fix this issue and integrate the platforms together, or prepare to lose a lot of loyal customers who hate being frustrated like this due to silly reasons.

@rynor777 As of recently it's pretty much getting rid of that new EA beta excuse of an app. Get Origin re-installed, if the game does not work, just delete all of the files in C:\ProgramData\Origin except for the "LocalContent" folder then fire up origin on its own, and validate the files via Origin's repair function. Then kill Origin to fire up NFS-H from steam.

It's a ridiculous process but it works. I've seen some bugged games and launchers over the years but this takes the cake IMO.

If your game does not appear in Origin then you can try re-installing the whole thing but for sure don't use EA App, it's rubbish at best and doesn't recognise half the things it should.
  • @NOUSD4BUGS The problem I'm now facing is, I had the EA useless app installed along with Origin.

When I opened Origin it stated it will soon be shifting to the new EA App.

I tried opening the EA app, where it then gave some options to repair or something, and it removed Origin from my PC.

So now I'm stuck with the beta EA app, which is a huge pain in the *, and I can't seem to find an Origin Installer file anywhere online ☹️

Even when I did find one, it defaults to the EA app everytime.

It's like the EA app is some sort of virus, which even after deleting completely still lingers in my pc.

@rynor777 remove EA App, reboot your pc, check for any remnant crap in your temp or application data folders - you may wish to go into safe mode, and download an installer - for me the one from origin dot onl worked.
Install the Origin, start your steam, kill the installed Origin, and launch the game from steam and it should not enforce you to install the new rubbish thing. If NFS-H crashes, then repeat what I said above. Still, the amount of messing about with the useless launchers is mind-boggling.
Sometimes you gotta disable your AV too.
    Good luck.
  • @NOUSD4BUGS Okay, wow. I followed your advice
And finally, hallelujah!! Finally the game is working!
I also discarded the absolutely useless EA app and purged every trace of it from my laptop
And re-installed Origin, and now all games are working smoothly.

    Thank you so much bro.
You have no idea how insane this issue was driving me 😅😂

@rynor777 No worries, I was stuck for ages trying to figure out how to make this stupid game work. As much as I really like NFS, anything that requires launching 3rd party app is usually an instant, fk buying that game, especially if its something like EA App (there are plenty of other devs/publisher that use equally rubbish apps to launch the games, so EA aint alone)
    1. To be sure uninstall everything (i used revo uninstaller to clean uninstall all junk)
    2. Restart pc
    3. Install any origin
    4. Change date in your windows ( i put 9 january)
    5. open origin login and do everything ( it shouldn't pop the ducking EA horsedung app notif)
    6. Then if you want to play games on steam go to game directory to delete 3 files😞 5.1 cleanup 5.2 EAappInstaller 5.3Touchup
    7. Now you can still use Origin like it used to before..Start game and try, Hit me up on steam if it worked for you. https://steamcommunity.com/id/deadniu/"
