Re: Why are so many people having a problem with the police?

@JORDIRX8honestly I'm not too sure about that, with the starter Mustang with how it comes I never had any issue with it being like level 130-140 getting away from heat 2 and then being more strategic at heat 3 but nothing more.

The only time you take "overpowered" damage is when you allow them to catch upto you at a high rate of speed and you allow them to ram you because the smaller hits do next to nothing to you and doing it back to them does next to nothing as well, only the real big hits count as damage for the most part.

Oh, you mean when i am going the fastest my car can go in a straight road and the cops are 1400+ yards away and they catch up in 2 seconds and no matter what i do, they perfectly match speeds with me and this is a new game, i deleted my saves to try a different car, but the same problem arises.....the cop cars are too fast and deal too much damage, i am guessing you cheated to get where you got, because the cops are too STRONG, they need nerfing, so please, stop making stuff up.

  • @JamieK81 Well I've never had that issue at all.

I came into the game knowing the cops are going to be agressive which means they will be able to keep up with you for the most part.
But damage wise they are honestly fine, as I previously said they only really do damage when you allow them to do heavy hits to you, if it's them bumping against you while both going fast, it does literally next to nothing.

Also lol @ you thinking that I must of cheated, just get better and think about what you're doing in a police chase, it's not that hard.

    Ok, here's a scenario:

    End of the race

    Chased by cops lvl 1

Can't get rid of them for some reason

250+ KPH, lvl 1 cops overtake you

    Incoming lvl 2

    Twists and turns

    Crash into some oncoming traffic

lvl 2 cops smash you 2 times

    busted.

That's the way it's been for me since i started.

There is absolutely no way you go 250 km/h (~180/190 m/h) and not lose a Heat 1 cruiser. You either mistakenly think your car is faster than it is, or you're just not trying. Perhaps both, but there is no way your car is hitting >170m/h if you can't lose them.

Sorry but there is something massively wrong with you and/or your game if you're unable to get away from Heat 1 cops while being able to do 250km/h+ and get wrecked in two hits.

I've been hit and clipped by rhinos with a car that don't have the damage reduction perk on and at most a rhino has done like 50% damage in one hit for me but normal cop cars (like the Crown Vic and Charger) have only done like 25% in one hit but thats from when I was almost stopped and they where going fast.

My experiences have been really similar to those above me.

Driving the starter M3, upgraded to about level 170, my heat has been climbing almost twice as fast as it was the first few nights. The starter cops were relatively slow on the first night as well

Now, starter crown vics at level 1 heat will blow my doors off like i'm standing still, while i'm going 160-170mph, and will hit me for 20-50% health with ANY contact, even if i'm the one hitting them at speed trying to force them off the road. The chargers put out even more damage, and the corvettes are so fast they have to be going 200+ mph almost all the time.

My last chase  started at the bottom of level 1 and I couldn't escape the starter cops for about 3 minutes, then the chargers and corvettes showed up within about 30 seconds of each other. I could lose them for a few seconds, but cops were FOLLOWING MY EXACT PATH in the city after I had broken line of sight and would obviously catch up and pass me in a few seconds. Now at heat level 4, all I could do was go to the marina and brake at the jumps and try to make them fall in the water.

In the time it took me to take out 3 cops, 4 or 5 more would spawn in. After a few minutes of this bouncing between ramps, I got up to heat level 7, I had used all 3 of my repairs and eventually got busted.

I have not had a single pursuit except for those on the first night that I could get away from, even with severe exploits like finding the two closest ramps over water and bouncing between them.

I've heard plenty of stories of people who have no problems with cops and even like them, but somehow the game is either bugged for me or has a really messed up way of calculating cop strength and it needs to be fixed, whatever it is.

@Professor0aked I've never seen Heat level 7. The trick is to run as far away as possible from the area the pursuit is in. Set a destination for a gas sation on the other side of the map and head for it. Install damage reduction for your passive auxilary and you should be fine.

This sounds like a horrible idea, how would that ever work?

Also, the level 170 M3 is not much to write home about. The level/score given to the car is pretty arbitrary, so your main questions should be as to whether your acceleration or high speed lacks. You should be using the "Damage Reduction" perk on the car for health. Otherwise, you should go easy on racking up your heat levels if your car clearly can't handle it.

Sounds like you should be doing 1 race per night and cashing that xp in as quick as you can. There is absolutely no justification as to why you're whipping around in a stock beginner car and getting anywhere beyond Heat 1/2.

@ColAvalanche311 In all fairness I was doing just that the first couple of time out with my Evo X starter car. Learnt my lesson pretty quick with that 1. Even with a mid 200s i8 was a struggle to escape with heat lvl 3.
  • I tried this on easy and was doing 170+ down a straight road with a heat level of 2. A cop passes me like I'm standing still and slams on his brakes. I'm all for a challenge, but when it seems as though the deck is stacked against you, it's just not fun.

For those of you not having problems with cops, what platform are you using? Maybe it's a platform issue? Im on a ps4. Also, what are you doing to evade? The straight line high speed doesnt work. I just experienced that myself.

  • @Szantarious I'm on PC, playing with Xbox360 controller.
I've been able to get away from cops at Heat levels up to 3, as long as you can go above 170-180 mph. Driving in a straight line works for me, as I am able to outrun them.

However, even if I use a slower car, I'm able to lose the cops by turning corners (where they lose visibility of you) and you can use the momentum to your advantage to keep making time on the cops when they lose visibility. When you get a chance, drive off into a field, or alley, or anywhere hidden and just hang out/turn your car off.

For example, if you follow my guide (https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/Quick-Guide-and-Boosting-Tips-to-Max-Level-Spoilers/td-p/8412313), and you're at the Speedway - you can run the loop and use the ramp when you have a decent enough space between you and the cops to get out of the ring, get through the alley and into the field.

There are a lot of ways to evade them, it's just a matter of being able to lose them for small moments, where you can take advantage of the situation and get away. Maybe it's skill, but seems too easy for that.

"Why are so many people having a problem with the police?"

Because its hard and sometimes, without a ramp or cheap trick, near impossible to escape.

My first "Busted" was with my starter Mustang on Heat Lv1 or 2 and was expected. Meanwhile im sitting in a Mercedes AMG GT 15, Rep 34, elite radar jammer and fully upgraded to that level, car rating 368 and i can barely escape on a straight line by pure speed on heat lv1 or 2. Heat Lv 3 is my point in ending the night, escaping cops here is pure luck with ramps and going offroad.

It doesn´t matter how fast you are on the straight, there is always 1 cop "glued" at your rear.

That is my expierience with cops so far.

But i would prefer a cop Diff-Setting rather than a cop nerf overall.

@ColAvalanche311 Thanks for the guide link and constructive post instead of the usual "get better" reply. It helps when people reply with their experiences and attempts to help.
