The Police Can't Catch Up! Police Chases are BORING!

I want to get in an epic police chase, but I always just get into a chase with one or two cop cars that cannot seem to drive and cannot drive over 100 mph. I'm always waiting for them to catch up and if I start to gun it I lose them in less than 15 seconds. This was a problem in NFS Most Wanted 2012 as well. The police force is full of drunk drivers.

In chases, there needs to be smarter AI, faster cop cars, and MORE THAN 3 COPS!

Also police chases are boring. A police officer will rarely holler at you through their horn, also there is no police radio like almost every Blackbox NFS game has. There needs to be a police radio, I wanna hear what the police are doing! They also need to call for backup!

Please improve the police. They really stink.

I was expecting something similar to NFS Carbon/NFS Most Wanted (2005) police.

EDIT: There also needs to be Rhino SUV's that come in the opposite direction of your travel to smash you. Also, Pursuit Breakers, we need those if the police get really heavy.

Yeah, when I play NFS:MW I gotta wait till I'm heat level 3, but then I can't escape anymore. Pretty lame.

Need for Speed Most Wanted (2005) was the best for police chases imo. One thing I can't stand about this generation of consoles is that my expectations were that for a game like this, we would get Need for Speed Most Wanted (2005) or either Underground games - but with 10 years worth of additions. Instead, it seems like while the graphics are better, and the FPS increased - there are so many features in a lot of games this generation that are not included but were included in these games 10 years ago. Instead of adding more, making police chases better (it's been 10 years!), more cars, more parts, etc., it's actually less. Less cars, less parts, the police, etc. I just don't really get it. I really am enjoying this game - but to think over 10 years they could have added so much more. DLC is also really hurting console gaming in my opinion. Anyway, just my 2 cents...

I find that the level 4 police chases are a bit of a challenge, but not too difficult if you're on a highway with a fast car. Level 1 and 2 are a joke. You have to continually turn around to keep them chasing you for a few minutes if you want to build it up to higher levels. Could be much better.

  • This generation of games, developers number one priority is graphics, Preorders,  and DLC. Not the most important part GAMEPLAY, CONTENT, and STABILITY. They would rather sacrifice the gameplay, content, and stability for the graphics cause people will think "Oh the graphics are so good I'm going to preorder this!". Sooner or later, this won't be true anymore. People will hopefully realize what's going on and backlash and boycott.

Old games had more love put in to them when the internet wasn't so big. If your game wasn't really good, it would fail. I wish that was true today. Instead, companies just overhype the public with a bad game that cannot fail because they already have your money through pre orders. IMO, there needs to be another video game crash like the one in the 80's. After the crash, amazing games will return.

  • I think a big reason for the tendency of these games to "lose" features is the fact that the games are being made by different developers who don't necessarily have access to the code base from previous games.  Also, development time continues to increase while deadlines continue to decrease, causing a lot of things to get left out due to nothing more than a lack of time.

This isn't absolving Criterion or EA of the sin of removing many terrific features that were in previous NFS games, of course.

Not only that... takes me around 20-30min to even find a police car.

  • The ????? guy who keeps sending messages about messing with police challenges, his missions are very difficult. Not because they are hard, it's because finding the police and getting in a long police chase is really hard because the police AI cannot keep up and they are really dumb. They are always hitting walls and going the wrong route I'm going. They also keep wrecking into traffic cars more than I do.

  • Also, in the storyline, the characters would say the Downtown area is filled to the brim with cops. Ironically, I don't see any cops about 15 - 30 minutes apart.

  • It would be really annoying if police in free roam were like in Rivals, where they begin to chase you for sometimes just being parked at the side of the road, and in higher levels, they would constantly slam you and surround you with their supercars that easily catch up to you going 300 km/h.

Free roam police can be left untouched, if there would be bounty spots like in Most Wanted 2005, with a tweak that if you start a chase that way, the police has more aggressive cars.

Currently, you can always take a near-stock car for enjoying chases.
